Finally thanks to @thommcn I got a reboot-logcat with lots of crashes inside. Most of them are related to NFC and the last one before the logs cut out is also one. There are a few patches for NFC in V4 which might fix this, but I am not sure. Please test V4 and should the crashes still occur turn off NFC, try again and report back. I will activate my NFC again and see if I can trigger this for myself. If you can please check your Pre-V4 logcats and search for crashes like this:

New Update is here: 18.11.2016 - V4:
- Integrated newest Android Patches from Sony and Google.
- New binaries from qcom (camera, sensors, display, ...)
- Custom kernel with additional fixes, FMRadio patches (not working yet) and zen I/O scheduler
- Fixes and Enhancements here and there

I tested functionality on my SGP621. Everything seems to work fine. SGP621 and SGP611 images are online now.
Thanks!

V4 on SGP611 - I just transferred a video file using NFC without problem. ROM seems stable.

1. External
2. OltraMax class 10 32Gb, Kingston class 10 16Gb
3.

recovery.log does not help. Boot into Android where the card works and start an adb logcat to a file then reboot. Once the logcat stops, start it again to a new file, so it catches the boot from the start. If there card shows as corrupted, stop the logcat and attach both files here. Only then I will be able to see when the corruption occurs. As said, I can not reproduce here, so it has most likely something to do with either your SD or the partitioning/formatting tool you used.

USB Port stopped working

Don't know if its just a coincidence or really something bad happened:
After flashing V4 the usb port of my tablet stopped working completely. No loading, no connection at all.
Tried it with all my usb equipment, all that worked before stopped working the moment I flashed v4.
Is it possible to flash in TWRP back to v3 (or to some other?) to test my usb port? I'm not a hardware tech guy, but I can't
imagine that flashing destroys an usb port or am i wrong?

Thanks Guys!

It is highly unlikely to impossible (my guess would be it is impossible) to break an USB port by flashing a ROM. I just tried several USB cables and several USB OTG devices, all of them working without a hitch on V4. What I have seen in the past though (but with all roms including stock) was that sometimes the USB port would stop working until the device was rebooted or shut down. But if you want to try, as V4 was only incremental, you should be safe flashing V3 on top of it with fastboot flash of the images like with an update.

Thanks! You can't imagine how stupid I feel right now.
First rule if something is not working: Reboot!
It works again.

One other potential bug and than I will be quiet:)
Wanted to ask for it much earlier, but forgot about it.
Since I use your ROM, 5ghz AC Wifi doesn't work anymore.
Means I can connect to it, tablet tells me "Connected, no Internet".
It worked before and still working on all my other devices.

Any idea?

Please attach a logcat. I have it running on my 5Ghz AC here at home, as well as on the one at work just fine.

Nice work there!

At first, may I say how awesome that someone make steps ahead of Sony-Qualcomm attitude about tablet Z3.
Thanks for the great work there.
Now, some feedback:
From setup screen I noticed that 5GHz Wi-Fi doesn't work at all.
At work Wi-Fi transfer from smb is low, 2MB vs 6-7 MBA at cyan 12.1 or stock 6.0.1 .
So, Wi-Fi is the first brink in those ROM's way to everyday use.
On the second hand, new split screen mode is WAY unstable. Like, every try to resize YouTube end in UI error, that resolves only after reboot. View attachment 3942684
Even file upload doesn't work.
View attachment 3942685
So, much way to go. Count me in as beta tester.
P.S. Does't work with SanDisk Extreme formatted as exFAT, works fine after built-in formatting.

The wakelock that appears after charging the device is called MSM_DWC3, this appears every time I charge the device but can be fixed with a reboot, tested on v3 will install v4 tonight and test again.

- As you can see from the first screenshot 5Ghz Wifi is working fine here.
- On the second screenshot you can see that file upload in current firefox on XDA works as well.
- The third screenshot shows Youtube in Split-Screen mode which works perfect on my tablet.

I am sorry to say, that I have never before seen the error you posted on your screenshot, but if it occurs please drop me a logcat so I can investigate. I also just tested smb file transfer from my NAS and the throughput was around 5.8 MB/s. EXFat does not work because it is patented technology from Microsoft and there is no support in the AOSP kernel as far as I am aware. I maybe will add it later, but its not very high on my ToDo-List ATM.

All screenshots were made today with a upgraded V4 from two days ago.

Ok, used v4 for install too. Seems like hell broke loose without purpose(and with all necessary wipes).
I'll just try clean install tomorrow, without SuperSU install this time.

This ROM is no longer maintained. Sadly the last provided zip files got deleted by accident. If anyone can provide them, I will re-upload.

Disclaimer: Flash at your own risk! Backup your data before flashing! I am not responsible for bricked devices, World War III or your exploding cats!
Warning: The SGP611 images are not tested, but just built by me, as I do not own the device. But as the two devices are the same except for the 4G Modem, it should work. If not, please let me know.

    About:
As my beloved SGP621 was just collecting dust, I decided to try porting Android 7.1 AOSP onto it.
And voila, with a few tweaks here and there, it works (for the most part).

    What works:
    - Display
    - Sound
    - WiFi
    - 4G Data
    - Bluetooth
    - NFC (somewhat flakey, but much better with fixes in V4)
    - LED
    - Magnetic Cover Sleep/Wake
    - WideVine DRM
    - Double-Tap to wake

    What doesn't work:
    - FM Radio (working on it)
    - Camera (Taking Pictures works, but sometimes the camera is not able to connect. Taking a video crashes the mediaserver.)
    - You tell me

I have used it for the last few weeks. Battery life near optimal now and I had no crashes up until now. If your battery depletes rapidly, please disable NFC and check if it betters things. Then comment here, so I can look into it.

    Keeping your data:
If you come from an earlier version of this ROM it should suffice to only flash boot.img and system.img. Coming from Stock or another ROM you could try to not flash userdata and see if it would keep your data, but I think it will not work in most cases.

    Flashing:
Flashing userdata it is like doing a wipe. So BACKUP your data! You have been warned!
To flash it, you need to put your tablet into fastboot mode (VolUp + plugging in USB-Cable) and then flash the three image files from the zip file in the provided link like:
    Code:
    fastboot flash boot boot.img
    fastboot flash system system.img
    fastboot flash userdata userdata.img

    gapps and/or root:
If you want Google Apps and/or root you need to download official twrp for scorpion windy (or inofficial for scorpion) from here and flash it to the FOTAKernel partition with the following command:
    Code:
    fastboot flash FOTAKernel twrp-3.0.2-0-scorpion_windy.img
After that you can boot into recovery by hitting VolUp multiple times once the LED flashes purple until it turns orange.
From there you are able to flash
    - gapps for Nougat 7.1 arm (nano confirmed working, others could be problematic)
    - Magisk-V8 and phh-SuperUser (confirmed working)

    Tips for better battery life:
I installed Naptime to trigger deep doze as soon as the tablet goes to sleep. I also enabled zzmoove cpu gov and noop scheduler in the kernel options. Because of the high display brightness, I installed Lux Lite, to dim the screen if it is darker. This leads to me getting standby battery consumption of around 1.2% per hour (measured with GSam Battery Monitor) which is nearly the same amount I got with stock.

    Changelog:
    18.11.2016 - V4:
    - Integrated newest Android Patches from Sony and Google.
    - New binaries from qcom (camera, sensors, display, ...)
    - Custom kernel with additional fixes, FMRadio patches (not working yet) and zen I/O scheduler
    - Fixes and Enhancements here and there
    08.11.2016 - V3:
    - Integrated newest Android Version NDE63X from earlier today.
    - Integrated and enabled WideVine DRM, so that Google Play Movies is now working.
    - Custom kernel with additional zzmoove governer and adreno_idler patches to lengthen battery life
    - Fixes and Enhancements here and there
    04.11.2016 - V2:
    - switched the Camera subsystem to HAL1 after discussion with the sony camera guys
    - fixed most of the camera related crashes and hangs. Quality of the preview is poor, but pictures are okay.
    - Taking a Video crashes the mediaserver and yields no playable result as of now.
    - added build for SGP611, which is untested as I do not own the device. But it should work.
    02.11.2016 - V1:
    - Initial release: Everything except Camera is working. Camera uses HAL3.

    Thanks:
    - Sony, for providing awesome AOSP support on github

    New V3 build is here.

If you come from an earlier version of this ROM it should suffice to only flash boot.img and system.img. Afterwards you need to reflash Superuser as well as GApps again (There are new opengapps available for today!).

Tried with many different samples from mplayerhq with many different codecs. In VLC with hardware and software decoding as well as with firefoxes internal playback. They all played back fine and without color distortion. Maybe your player app is not yet compatible with 7.1?

my fault I only tried playing with the gallery. other apps work well and I forgot to mention that I've installed this rom on my SGP611. thanks!

Is this also for the WiFi only Z3 Tablet? (Scorpion Windy)

Well this is a surprise. Since I never used NFC and the Cameras with the tablet and always got rid of the corresponding apks in /system this would actually be a daily runner for me right now :D
Sadly I only have a SGP611, so no love for me right now...

Anyway, top notch work, keep it up!

I've installed this rom on my SGP611 and it works well. Give it a try, everything is working fine :D
