No custom Roms on Odin
And your right about being possible, just not likely. Many have moved on to new phones and such. But it's always nice to dream

Ok...I am VERY rusty on the ins and outs of this. I used to be a flashaholic back in the days of Fascinate, S3, S4...haven't flashed a THING in at least a year. Can someone take pity on me and tell me if I can root and rom a Verizon s5 running BOG5 5.0??? If so, fabulous and thank you in advance! I cannot stand another day with stock!!
Well you might not have a choice as of now there is no root method available to any builds BOE1 or Higher including BOG5
So does this occur only if you install Verizon's OTA updates? Not an issue with the ROMs and firmware posted here?Nope. It won't let you, and you'll probably brick your phone if you do
Correct. If you've taken a Verizon ota, your hosed. If your already rooted, and on a stock or custom Rom, your ok
Hi, the root too V3 which included safestrap, once installed do I have to down grade the kernel before I can access SS? Currently I'm on OG5. Thanks

Just click on lollipop safestrap then click recovery reboot. You will have to flash the BOG5 kernel zip once your done in safestrap

A followup question: There are Verizon Samsung G5 unlocked phones out there for less than $300. Can I gain elevated privileges on a phone of this type, but still use the Verizon network. Thanx again, you've been most helpful. :highfive:
