Hi, I'm using this ROM for a while now, I'll try to answer your questions inline:

Hi all,

atm, I try to decide if I should install this ROM or keep the original samsung with KNOX 0.

I read and googled a lot, but I'm not sure if I found all disadvantages of using
  • this custom rom
  • tripping KNOX to 1
  • root (magisk)
  • xposed

Here are my findings.
It would be great if you can add things I missed and answer my additional questions below.

this custom rom
-->Nothing (biometrics, camera, bluetooth, wificalling should work like in original samsung rom)
->I confirm

tripping knox to 1
--> Samsung pay can't be used forever
--> Samsung pass can't be used forever
--> Samsung pay can't be used forever
--> Samsung health can't be used forever
--> Samsung secure folder can't be used forever
Are there apps from other vendors which also use KNOX security?
->Samsung Health is working fine, i don't know any other apps that use knox

root (magisk, assuming SafetyNet passes)
--> Nothing (google pay and other banking-pay-apps should still work)
->I confirm

xposed
--> SafetyNet will FAIL
Will uninstall xposed bring SafetyNet back to PASS?
->Yes, you just need to uncheck Xposed in Magisk modules list and reboot, and it is all it takes to get SafetyNet completely passing again

Bye Max

Cleaned installed this rom to get beta 2 after wiping beta 1.

I was not rooted on beta 1 but was able to install this rom successful on my S9+ D/FS.

wiped Data
Flashed twrp
Flashed rom
Selected magisk and adaway.

Flashed with no issues.
Beta 2 with root working.

Thanks for the fast update to beta 2!

I have never understood what changes in every Magisk release as there is no changelog in the ROM info. Btw, VR service should be removed if you select Samsung Gear from Aroma options. It's useless without It. Thank you for the great work!

@SoLdieR9312 - Newest Magisk version and I keep receiving notification about "New Magisk Manager 6.0.6 available".
Even when I installed this newest version manually, it keeps telling me that i have 6.0.5 and that 6.0.6 which i just installed is available :D

Either newest one has not updated build number or 6.0.5 is uploaded as 6.0.6 by mistake. Thanks! Other than that - excellent

Sorry for the stupid question, but on boot my phone still says it's protected by Knox. Does that mean anything or have I messed up an install?

Use viper4android from magisk repo and it will work. Not working on Pie release but work on Oreo one

Ah right, I'm using Pie now that explains why it isn't working. Tried going through Magisk, and using Viper4Arise and keep getting driver installation errors. Same with Dolby Digital/Atmos

Hi,

I just installed this ROM and most of the stuff works great, thanks!
Just one thing, it seems I cannot change the screen resolution; when I go to "whatismyscreenresolution.net" is shows as 412*846. I tried switching between the 3 modes; HD+, FHD+ and WQHD+ but I dont see any difference at all. The site also keeps showing the same value. Any idea what that could be?

I think that site is showing the resolution of your browser. 'System info for android' app shows my resolution as 1440 x 2792

You need to be on a Custom ROM based on the Version of the MOD Zip!

    1. Make a backup of your current device state, so you can go back if something is broken
    2. Flash a Custom ROM based on the current MOD ZIP, i highly recommended [ALEXNDR]s DevBase
    3. DO NOT WIPE system! [Mod zip do not contain a full rom!]
    4. Flash the matching MOD ZIP in TWRP [example: Custom ROM is DTD7 -> DTD7 Mod]
    5. Flash latest Twrp Flashable Firmware
    6. Device will reboot after Firmware flash
    7. Enjoy

If you want to update to new base, simply flash the Custom ROM Update, then my mod zip, done.

    Hey Guys,

i'm uploading v23.0 based on CSJ1 (October Security Patch Base) (will be done in about 2 hours..)
CSJ1 Firmware and DualSim + SDCard Mod are already up on my webpage.

    Changelog will be:
-rebased to CSJ1 (October Security Patch Base)
-updated Stock patched Kernel to CSJ1
    -updated Magisk to v20.0
    -updated AdAway to 4.2.9

As all of you know, i do not own a S9 series device anymore since March, so i'm only able to fix issues by getting logs and clear description of what is not working.
The ROM comes with everything that was included in July, when i stopped the project.
As i got many pm's in the last time, that it would be nice to see my project back, i have decided to push a update to the ROM and see how it will go.

The new Telegram Support Chat can be found here.

EDIT: Rom is up. As always, do a nandroid before flashing, in case of something goes wrong!

    13.0 released

ROM rebased to CRLI (Android 9.0 | PIE)
    December Security Patch Base
Stock patched Kernel rebased to CRLI
    added some more debloat options
    ROM Updater 1.0.6 added:
    supports PIE ROM now
    fixed all links for webpage

NO Custom Kernel until Sources drops for Pie.
Do not even try to boot with Oreo Kernel ;)

Coming from OREO i would do a Clean flash, otherwise strange issues will mess the UI.
Coming from PIE Beta a Dirty flash will be fine.

Merry XMAS to all, and thanks for your support in 2018!
