Just the entire folder of what you're looking at making transparent.... you'll probably have to zip it though to upload :)
Well right now, I'm trying to make an image from scratch to make a Beautiful Widgets skin so there aren't any files other than the one number I've been working on as I got pretty stuck right away lol I'll zip them together and upload em.

Ok, is this what you're going for? Look at my attached file. After saving it in the png like you had, double click where it says "background" to unlock the background and make it editable. Then, simply make it transparent again :)
Hmm I think maybe the way I made it transparent is the issue...when I made the new file I chose a transparent background...should I have done it differently?

I don't think it matters really. I simply used that png file in that zip you gave me, opened it in photoshop, double clicked the locked background in the lower right tab, hit enter, and then made the background transparent using the quick selection tool :D

Oh wait what? Let me try that lol I was trying to find a "transparent setting" lol

EDIT: Worked like a charm. Jeez its been a long time since I used Photoshop lol, impaler...you rock more than you know.

No problem man, glad you got it!
Me too, now I just have to go through and make all the numbers and then the weather...and other stuff too I think. Wow, theming is really daunting...how you do this stuff when there are hundreds of thousands more things to theme blows me away.

Lol, yeah that and the fact that I have about 20 simultaneous projects is a lot of work sometimes ;) :D

Has anyone found a way to add a theme to CM's theme chooser, or is everyone just theming the framework and systemui?

I figured theimpaler might know since he's a pretty big name, and I've actually used his market app in a theme I made for the Vibrant.

I would kind of like to work with CM's theme chooser if possible. Would be nice as a user and developer to be able to easily switch between them. I just got the Nexus S so I haven't looked into it that much.

Can someone point me in the right direction of how to apply these nice looking themes released on this forum. I can read guides and follow them, just I have no idea what to search. This seems more of a developers forum rather than a user's, so i feel a bit clueless. I just recently got a Samsung nexus S and well i think its amazing, have changed the layout of it form the normal gingerbread launcher (currently using LaucherPro free version).

However I would like to just have a nice clean layout, Ive seen so many nice home screen on the thread below this one. Well honestly i have no idea what they are using or how to go about reproducing that.

Some some guides or tutorials or top apps for customizing etc would be really nice
Thanks.

To apply the themes, pick a ROM that you like and flash the theme for that ROM in recovery.

To customize your home screen follow this guide:

So i am new to theming and i was told to post here for questions. I want to do something pretty simple, i want to take a cm7 theme and combine certain aspects to another cm7 theme. The theme i want to keep is the androidican theme but i want to take the background from the camera and the black browser menu from the honeybread theme. What i tried to do is use apk manager to extract the apks. I then went into the res folders and looked for the images i needed to replace. I tried just the camera ones first cause i could find those easily. So i took the backgrounds from the camera of honeybread and replaced it into the androidican. I then resigned it and saved the apk. I tried it out on my phone but the theme didnt replace the camera background. Can someone help me? Am i suppose to just replace files or do i need to do something more?

Just replacing the files should do the trick, but sometimes it requires a reboot to get the full theme effect in the theme engine. Also, Androidian is a system app, so if you tried to install it manually, it might not have overwritten the existing one.

Changing clock color doesn't seem to be the same as it was on the Vibrant
Where did the value change to? It used to be in services.jar\com\android\server\status\StatusBarIcon.smali
