So apparently source for N is being uploading by Google right now. Does that mean someone could come out with a very alpha version of a N Rom soon?

It's funny to see the endless same discussions at each new Android version.

Even if apparently few changes are visible, under the water changes in the code are huge, and this is what will cause problem to devs.

Even if proprietary blobs were compatible with new sources, all the changes in security, root management (read a bit what Chainfire wrote about this), and code in general will probably need many many code rewriting in custom roms.

So be patient. Enjoy life. You are not your fone.

I would be glad to test any ROM that is built on N no matter the stability. I'm not expecting CM or OOS for a couple months but if someone were to port stock N to OP3 that would be amazing. :)

Seeing as there is no thread for the OP3 discussing Nougat as it pertains to this device, I though I would start a discussion thread.

Android 7.0 was released August 22nd 2016 for the Nexus 6, 6P, 5X, Pixel C, and Nexus 9 tablet. The factory images are available for download. Interestingly, Google also announced that the LG V20 will be the first device to launch with 7.0, meaning the Marlin and Sailfish nexuses are a bit farther away.

Hopefully OnePlus releases 7.0 for the OP3 sooner rather than later...
Note : Not released for Nexus 6 [Shamu] and Nexus 6p [Angler]

If you go by Android 6 releases, it took Oneplus ~9 months to release it after official release, so I expect the OnePlus 3 to receive Android 7 in May 2017.
I know that this is an older thread, but OnePlus has merged the HOS and OOS teams together... And one of the founders even hinted towards a ROM being released soon on twitter! [*Insert Source Here*]

Let's hope that it comes soon!
