I created this thread in the hopes of comparing user experiences when using these radios. These are the two most popular versions at the moment so if you DO NOT USE one of these two radios DO NOT COMMENT. :D

Endomondo Sports Tracker GPS tracking is not very accurate when using 36p. 37p tracked without issues.

Hi,

just wondering, if the AT&T radios are also suitable for European customers, as the european radio is N_01.100.00R Version.

Way to go.............off topic right off the bat! And people wonder why other people get frustrated and annoyed!

Yes, gps reception on 37p is phenomenal. Remember this IS the current radio fir US ATRIX customers. I would like to see what 36p have to say to defend their choice.

I am on 37p and it seems to be vary consistant as far as speeds and GPS lock. 36 wasn't bad for me pings and speeds in general seem to be a little more all over the place.

I agree, not the best radio for gps tracking. After my workout was incorrectly logged i decided to go back to 37p.

I've used .36P and .37P, both of them frequently fail to establish a data connection when leaving a wifi connection.

Example: Leave home to go to work, when the wifi signal fades, the phone will, at least 50% of the time, not get a mobile data connection.

Also, randomly the phone will just lose a data signal when not previously on a wifi signal and the phone will not re-establish a mobile data connection.

Going into airplane mode then back out of airplane mode fixes the problem, however this issue has made me just use .30P instead, which doesn't have this problem. The phone will still make calls and receive text messages when not on a data connection.

Agreed. I had my data drop last night on 37. That never happened to me on 36. GPS is better on 37, but data speed seems to be about the same. Of course, all the little random issues could be related to other things like ROM, kernel, and AT&T network. My opinion from what I've seen so far is that they are almost the same. Judging by the version numbers I'd say they are very similar. I'd be fine with either one, and see no reason to switch back from 37.

I have never had any of those problems on 37p. You should change to a radio specific to your region.

Yup... I see this on 36p. I don't really feel like updating to 37p though. I have had this issue with the Atrix since day 1, regardless of the radio.

I was on 30p (a CM7 nightly from a week ago) and a couple of days ago, my signal was completely dead (in areas where it should be strong) until I did a reboot. Yesterday, my GPS did not work at all (had strong signal too).

I updated to 36p (I wanted 37p but I was unable to find a link) earlier this morning and so far am loving it. Signal is strong, WiFi is great, GPS is a champ.

But does anybody have a link for 37p, if anything goes wrong, would like the ability to update. All links I found seem dead.

Thanks for starting this thread. I really wasn't aware of the differences in the different radios for AT&T, or any phone for that matter. My phone is using 15p at the moment, and I am thinking about flashing 37p, although I don't know what the possible disadvantages of doing so are.

I am definitely going to keep an eye on this thread.

37p, switching

I haven't tried 36p, but I'm experiencing some issues with 37p so I'll give it a test shortly.

Using stock rom and radio I would often get the same issue as DeathKoil, with the phone failing to reestablish a data connection after being on wifi then losing data while underground.

Now, on the CM9 beta, my data is a little erratic and GPS takes ages (30-60 sec) to fix. Maybe that's a beta issue, but I'm hoping a radio swap will resolve things.

Slightly OT - what, if anything, is recommended to be wiped when switching between radios? And is there a way to confirm which version your phone is running?

I always wipe cache, then Dalvik. Remember that when you wipe Dalvik your phone will take longer than usual to reboot. DO NOT PULL BATTERY DURING FIRST BOOT! :D

Check current version on settings, about

I'm currently using 30p. On Neutrino latest which is 36p got me apn issues. I lost my data signal. I'd like to test European and Asian baseband. Can anyone share 'em here? On 30p using Indosat (one of Indonesian carrier) always got full hsdpa without losing to edge. When I switched to XL,I got hsdpa unstable. Always getting back to edge.
I just wanna test which one working good with my current operator (XL).

Btw,I've just tested European radios and I lost my signal completely. I guess it's not compatible with my Atrix AT&T. I think Asian radios would be the same too. Now,I'm using 37p n don't notice any differences with 30p.
