Hello, everyone. So I have always wondered why has Sony put TFT screen into Xperia Z instead of better "LED" screen in previous generation Xperia S. And I went to the shop and first thing I saw when I woke up the phone were pale and really bad colors (really really under saturated). So I went home dissapointed and decided I would definetely go for some other phone, but people in forums told me to check settings and open gallery. And I went to that store again and checked setting everything was ok. Then I opened gallery and I was VERY SURPRISED colors were so great screen so sharp, I sent same pictures to S4 AMOLED and beleive it or not the colors were better and MORE SATURATED.

And I think now Sony does something to their phones, turn great colors off when not needed, and turn again on (they advertise it Mobile Bravia Engine 2). So I was thinking if some dev can make some kernel with option to turn that on/off.

What do you think?

This has been discussed many times before. I think most people here even have the Bravia Engine off (including me).
With the new update you can change the settings of your screen(just like the ZL), maybe that's what you want to look at.

I think you're obviously new to Sony Phones as you've been able to disable Bravia Engine for a while, which is a default option in settings.

I am not new, I opened gallery and the screen was pale also and AFTER FEW SECONDS was so great.
I suppose that bravia works efficiently only with videos/photos.

Yes, I think that may be true. Thanks.
