Wait so new stable build is out?
No, stable h2os. For Chinese market, its the same as OOS just with Chinese apps and play store, they have tons of censorship so it's different, just a bit. Software wise its a match...dirty flash install from oos9.0.12 local upgrade, then delete Chinese apps. Or flash clean, use China market to install play store. If u are beta, keep openbeta8

This app will always run In The background there's nothing you can do to stop it as you need a keyboard.
I don't see reason why keyboard is running in background while screen is off.

However, I noticed that it was draining more battery then usual after the March 1st update so I uninstalled updates and that solved the problem. No more severe battery drain from Gboard. Also you can try the Gboard beta and see if that's any better. Hope this helps.

I actually switch to beta few days ago, it is same thing. will try this now to see if it makes difference...
I see lots of people have problem with gboard draining battery...

Guys, i have been noticing that the battery section into settings suggests me to stop the app "Contacts" from causing excessive battery usage but nowhere in the battery stats i see it having a high percentual, infact it doesn't show up at all.

Is it a bug? My battery life is still solid after two weeks, i guess i can just ignore it, right?

I don't know what it's draining battery life for some people but I've never had problems and I always have screen up to full brightness and this screenshot is on the low end

For me it was a psecific issue with Google Play Music. If I didint use that my battery life would be great.

Now on Beta 8 I am back to normal battery drain.

Still no stable update. Looks like my next phone will be a pixel. I shouldn't have to run custom ROMs or beta software to be semi-current on updates and security patches. No excuse when this device has A/B partitioning and project treble support. Even if OnePlus is working on features that aren't 100% stable yet, just update the security patch level FFS and keep your testing in the beta channel. Let's see updates maybe not every month but every 2 months.

I was thinking same thing. I support oneplus from beginning, but larger they become they are more greedy for money, and giving less and less support... Concentrating on new customers, forgetting existing users. I had oneplus one, still have 2 and 3, had 5 and now upgraded to 6T... but next phone for sure will be pixel...

    Hey guys,

    Current setup 10.3.11
    Magisk 23 installed and working.
    TWRP 3.5.2_9-0-fajita

Just want to reconfirm if we can still update latest OOS (10.3.12) using the following method? :

    View attachment 5367839

    Thanks.

    ✌️

looks good, I have been using the below similar method since OOS 10 came out and just updated to 10.3.12 successfully using it too.

    1. Disable Automatic system updates in developer options
    2. Go to (Magisk Manager → Uninstall → Restore Images) *Do not reboot* This step is required before doing any of the following steps written below!
    3. Apply OTAs from (Settings → System → System Update → Install), *do not press* “Restart now” or “Reboot” button!
    4. To keep TWRP - Go to Magisk Manager download and install TWRP A/B Retention Script ZIP.
    5. Magisk Manager → Install → Install to Inactive Slot and install Magisk to the slot that the OTA just updated to.
    6. After installation is done, press the reboot button in Magisk Manager

Warning: Do not flash partial update OTAs (under 1 GB) on a modified/rooted device! If you want to use partial OTAs, you must first flash the full OxygenOS zip that it applies to, and then flash the partial OTA from stock recovery. Flashing partial OTAs from TWRP will either fail or soft brick your device. You can return to a usable state by flashing one of the above full zips in recovery.

    Installation Instructions

Download the necessary files from the section above and follow the steps below:

Note: Dirty flashing is fine if you are running an old OxygenOS version or a ROM based on OxygenOS. If you are, however, coming from a Custom ROM, you must clean flash.

Caution: Please remove your existing screen lock/pin/pattern/password and set it to swipe before starting the update process.

For Non-Rooted Users with a Locked Bootloader and Stock Recovery

    1. Download the full ROM zip from the downloads section above and place it in the root of your internal memory
    2. Reboot to Stock Recovery > Shutdown device > Press Volume Down + Power buttons together
    3. Select Language > Install menu > Install from internal > Select the full zip > Flash
    4. Reboot to System
Note: First boot may take some time, so please be patient and wait for it to boot.

[Dirty Flash] For Users with an Unlocked Bootloader and TWRP Recovery coming from Stable OxygenOS, OxygenOS Open Beta

    1. Download the full ROM zip and TWRP recovery from the downloads section above
    2. Transfer the full ROM zip and TWRP recovery to the root of your device's internal storage
    3. Reboot to TWRP recovery and take a nandroid backup of your existing ROM
    4. From the TWRP menu, Install > Select full ROM zip > Swipe to flash
    5. From the TWRP menu, Install > Select TWRP recovery zip > Swipe to flash
    6. Reboot to TWRP recovery
    7. Flash the latest stable Magisk in case you want to root
    8. Reboot to System
Note: First boot may take some time, so please be patient and wait for it to boot.

Warning: Dirty flashing (update) can be risky! Remember that if you face issues after dirty flashing, you will have to clean flash.

[Clean Flash] For Users with an Unlocked Bootloader and TWRP Recovery

    7. From the TWRP menu, Wipe > Swipe to wipe
    8. Flash the latest stable Magisk in case you want to root
    9. Reboot to System
Note: First boot may take some time, so please be patient and wait for it to boot.

    Never Settle.

    Hello XDA,

I would like to thank you all for your patience and for maintaining your cool keeping the thread under control. I had to close my 5/5T update threads at the time of Pie release delays and there was lot of drama. None the less the build should pass CTS soon and should be ok to roll out thereafter.

I had to close the official thread once and multiple clean-ups were required over the last few days. I am glad that there is no such escalation here and would like to once again appreciate the level of patience and understanding.

Having said all this, the update should be on its way in the coming days, so all we ask for is a little more patience.

    We are Almost there ...

Thank you for your patience and cooperation,
