Not all over Android 11,12 devices. I think it only happen to OnePlus device running android 11,...
Gmail notification working fine on Pixel 4XL here.
Not correct. It's all over Samsung devices and many others. I think I saw it on Motorola as well and Xiaomi. Same complaint, same problem. Probably has nothing to do with OnePlus at all.
The only "special" thing about OnePlus is that they kill apps like crazy (even if you could have 2 TB RAM Lol) which may add to the problem :-( . Their memory management is the worst I have seen on any Android device.

Strange that google can't fix it.
But which app do you use instead?
I think it's awful. My guess is it works on their Pixel devices and that's what they use.
I am using Aqua Mail that I bought years ago :). It even supports correct RTL which even gmail doesn't do anymore. But you need to configure it correctly.

If that is the case, thanks for correcting me. I missed a lot of news related to other devices. 🙂

Well I like to check out especially Samsung now as I may buy the S22. I love my OnePlus 6T but I am quite fed up with OnePlus updates policy. No, no 1 year old Android 11 doesn't cut it. Rom filled with bugs from previous device (OnePlus 7 had the same bugs we got but few months earlier) doesn't cut it. Zero fixes to our bug reports.. doesn't cut it. You get the idea :) . So I am checking how Samsung are doing. We had S10+ in the family but now we have no new Samsungs. We prepare to buy new devices now so I need to dig in. And yes, I see complaints about Gmail notifications in many groups. Everyone blames their own company and no one blames Google. Which is funny as hell, because Google are probably the culprit  .

Since the Boot img links in OP aren't working anymore, I had to do it manually. Attaching the 10.3.7 boot files for reference.

If someone is patient enough, I'd need assistance. Namely, I have magisk on my 6T and no TWRP. Recently there was an update to the magisk app, but since it stated that there will be no root hide directly from the app, I decided not to update yet. Then I got another notification for a magisk update, but it might have been an update for the magisk itself (not sure), I think I declined, but I might have mistakenly clicked yes.

So, now my phone cannot open the magisk app (keeps force closing), does not have actual root, but the apps that check for root see my phone as rooted and refuse to work.

My question is: can someone provide me with a step-by-step noob-proof instructions on how to fix the problem or at least how to unistall magisk completely withot the app?

Install TWRP by fastboot

Reboot to Recovery,

First rename Magisk24.1.apk to
Magisk24.1.zip
Than flash it in Recovery.

If that works oke.

If not

Rename Magisk 24.1 to uninstaller.zip and flash it.

https: // topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install. html

It's all on GitHub at Magisk repository.

Hope you get it Right.

I'd really like to keep my stock recovery and not add another potential source of problems and complexity, now and in the future.

    Root

Warning: Do not flash partial update OTAs (under 1 GB) on a modified/rooted device! If you want to use partial OTAs, you must first flash the full OxygenOS zip that it applies to, and then flash the partial OTA from stock recovery. Flashing partial OTAs from TWRP will either fail or soft brick your device. You can return to a usable state by flashing one of the above full zips in recovery.

    Installation Instructions

Download the necessary files from the section above and follow the steps below:

Note: Dirty flashing is fine if you are running an old OxygenOS version or a ROM based on OxygenOS. If you are, however, coming from a Custom ROM, you must clean flash.

Caution: Please remove your existing screen lock/pin/pattern/password and set it to swipe before starting the update process.

For Non-Rooted Users with a Locked Bootloader and Stock Recovery

    1. Download the full ROM zip from the downloads section above and place it in the root of your internal memory
    2. Reboot to Stock Recovery > Shutdown device > Press Volume Down + Power buttons together
    3. Select Language > Install menu > Install from internal > Select the full zip > Flash
    4. Reboot to System
Note: First boot may take some time, so please be patient and wait for it to boot.

[Dirty Flash] For Users with an Unlocked Bootloader and TWRP Recovery coming from Stable OxygenOS, OxygenOS Open Beta

    1. Download the full ROM zip and TWRP recovery from the downloads section above
    2. Transfer the full ROM zip and TWRP recovery to the root of your device's internal storage
    3. Reboot to TWRP recovery and take a nandroid backup of your existing ROM
    4. From the TWRP menu, Install > Select full ROM zip > Swipe to flash
    5. From the TWRP menu, Install > Select TWRP recovery zip > Swipe to flash
    6. Reboot to TWRP recovery
    7. Flash the latest stable Magisk in case you want to root
    8. Reboot to System
Note: First boot may take some time, so please be patient and wait for it to boot.

Warning: Dirty flashing (update) can be risky! Remember that if you face issues after dirty flashing, you will have to clean flash.

[Clean Flash] For Users with an Unlocked Bootloader and TWRP Recovery

    7. From the TWRP menu, Wipe > Swipe to wipe
    8. Flash the latest stable Magisk in case you want to root
    9. Reboot to System
Note: First boot may take some time, so please be patient and wait for it to boot.

    Never Settle.

    Hello XDA,

I would like to thank you all for your patience and for maintaining your cool keeping the thread under control. I had to close my 5/5T update threads at the time of Pie release delays and there was lot of drama. None the less the build should pass CTS soon and should be ok to roll out thereafter.

I had to close the official thread once and multiple clean-ups were required over the last few days. I am glad that there is no such escalation here and would like to once again appreciate the level of patience and understanding.

Having said all this, the update should be on its way in the coming days, so all we ask for is a little more patience.

    We are Almost there ...

Thank you for your patience and cooperation,
