Well that sucked...

I did the local upgrade from 9.0.7 rooted.
Booted to 9.0.10 fine and installed magisk 18.
But after a few minutes I kept losing full service. I tried wiping cache. I used magisk uninstaller. I then reapplied 9.0.10 but no luck. After every reboot I would have full lte for about 5 minutes and then it would lose all service. (Verizon)

Full wipe fixed it but was annoying to set up phone all over again. I'm going to try no root for once. I only use root for speaker mod and gms module. So not much of a loss.

Same here. I just posted. Tried everything. I'm not on beta. Only thing that fixed it for me was full wipe...

Exactly same thing with me. I tried all those steps. Every reboot I have LTE for a couple minutes then lose all service (empty triangle for service bar). Only thing that fixed was full wipe...annoying

I have not tried to root again as I do not want to risk the same result.

I updated using TWRP and also have experienced this loss of data/connection to my Verizon service. I will be trying the beta for now...

VZW working on Beta?

VZW works on 9.10.
I think the procedure has something to do with it.

When I upgrade I go the long ways around.

1. Download full OTA image to /sdcard
2. Go into system and select local upgrade
3. Let the upgrade happen and reboot.
4. Make sure device is working
5. Now do the local upgrade again to get the other slow flashed
6. Make sure device is working
7. Reboot into bootloader
8. Boot with a TWRP image
9. Flash the TWRP zip file
10. Flash custom kernel and Magisk
11. Wipe cache
12 Reboot
13. Make sure device is working
14. Reboot again into TWRP recovery
15. Change to the other slot
16. Reboot into TWRP
17. Install ElementalX and Magisk to this slot
18. Wipe cache
19 Reboot

This procedure makes sure both slot have the most current OS, the same kernel and Magisk installed.
Using the local install via the OS makes sure that all the correct partitions get flashed and there are no failures.
If a secure partition flashes this makes sure that gets flashed also.
YMMV but I have yet to have issues with the long method.
I've had plenty with short methods.

Performed local upgrade of Oxygen 9.0.10 over Chinese Hydrogen OS 9.0.6. Can't finish setting up the phone however. Keep getting an error message saying "there was a problem communicating with Google servers". Rebooted to recovery and wiped the cache and also tried on both mobile data and Wi-Fi.

Anyone any ideas what's wrong?

Nevermind. Factory reset did the trick. :)

VZW also not working here

Just adding to the users that are having issues on 9.0.10 with VZW. I've tried reflashing the short and long way and although the signal status shows for VZW, there is no voice or sms. I've also tried disabling and enabling sim 2 VZW, deleting APN and restoring default APN for VZW, and I still have the same results. Hopefully there's some sort of fix or I guess I will also jump the beta bandwagon.

I tried going back to 9.0.10 after others said it worked. Still had no luck with voice. Back to beta and everything is working fine.

For those of who are unrooted Tmo converts, can we just accept the OTA when it pushes or flash something via local upgrade? I know there are still some positions we weren't able to flash before...

Afaik ota will never come. Download full zip and local upgrade seems to work for most. I'm waiting to see if an ota comes for the next few days. I want/need to see this "full conversion" through.

Explore what's new on Android 10 here.

This OTA will have a staged rollout. The OTA will be received by a limited number of users today and will have a broader rollout in a few days after making sure there are no critical bugs. Using VPN to download this build might not work as the rollout Is not based on regions and is randomly pushed out to a limited number of devices.

With your help, we have been able to better optimize and improve several key areas. Thank you for your patience and as always, we look forward to getting your continued feedback via the Community app.

If you don't have the Community app installed on your device, feel free to download it HERE. You can check here for more information on the integrated Feedback tool. Make sure to let us know how you feel about the build here in the thread too, we look forward to reading your feedback.

    Root

Warning: Do not flash partial update OTAs (under 1 GB) on a modified/rooted device! If you want to use partial OTAs, you must first flash the full OxygenOS zip that it applies to, and then flash the partial OTA from stock recovery. Flashing partial OTAs from TWRP will either fail or soft brick your device. You can return to a usable state by flashing one of the above full zips in recovery.

    Installation Instructions

Download the necessary files from the section above and follow the steps below:

Note: Dirty flashing is fine if you are running an old OxygenOS version or a ROM based on OxygenOS. If you are, however, coming from a Custom ROM, you must clean flash.

Caution: Please remove your existing screen lock/pin/pattern/password and set it to swipe before starting the update process.

For Non-Rooted Users with a Locked Bootloader and Stock Recovery

    1. Download the full ROM zip from the downloads section above and place it in the root of your internal memory
    2. Reboot to Stock Recovery > Shutdown device > Press Volume Down + Power buttons together
    3. Select Language > Install menu > Install from internal > Select the full zip > Flash
    4. Reboot to System
Note: First boot may take some time, so please be patient and wait for it to boot.

[Dirty Flash] For Users with an Unlocked Bootloader and TWRP Recovery coming from Stable OxygenOS, OxygenOS Open Beta

    1. Download the full ROM zip and TWRP recovery from the downloads section above
    2. Transfer the full ROM zip and TWRP recovery to the root of your device's internal storage
    3. Reboot to TWRP recovery and take a nandroid backup of your existing ROM
    4. From the TWRP menu, Install > Select full ROM zip > Swipe to flash
    5. From the TWRP menu, Install > Select TWRP recovery zip > Swipe to flash
    6. Reboot to TWRP recovery
    7. Flash the latest stable Magisk in case you want to root
    8. Reboot to System
Note: First boot may take some time, so please be patient and wait for it to boot.

Warning: Dirty flashing (update) can be risky! Remember that if you face issues after dirty flashing, you will have to clean flash.

[Clean Flash] For Users with an Unlocked Bootloader and TWRP Recovery

    7. From the TWRP menu, Wipe > Swipe to wipe
    8. Flash the latest stable Magisk in case you want to root
    9. Reboot to System
Note: First boot may take some time, so please be patient and wait for it to boot.

    Never Settle.

    Hello XDA,

I would like to thank you all for your patience and for maintaining your cool keeping the thread under control. I had to close my 5/5T update threads at the time of Pie release delays and there was lot of drama. None the less the build should pass CTS soon and should be ok to roll out thereafter.

I had to close the official thread once and multiple clean-ups were required over the last few days. I am glad that there is no such escalation here and would like to once again appreciate the level of patience and understanding.

Having said all this, the update should be on its way in the coming days, so all we ask for is a little more patience.

    We are Almost there ...

Thank you for your patience and cooperation,
