Idk why magisk acts in this way. It seems stuck but worked in background even After a full unistall/install. I try to dirty flash rom and change kernel but no success. The weird thing Is that when i unistall manager and reinstall It seems working unless I do a reboot. Any ideas?

Help please, stuck in reboot to recovery!

So i have been trying to install this all day, and I keep getting errors. I don't think anyone can get it to flash through TWRP, so I tried doing the local upgrade method, and it just says "System update installation failed."

I tried this from the stable build, it failed, I installed the latest non-A10 beta, it said the same thing, then I installed waaay back to Beta 14, it still failed. I tried downloading the new A10 beta about 3 times to make sure its not corrupted or something, but it always says the same thing. "System update installation failed."

I have factory reset, wiped cache and everything countless times now, I didnt want to lose my data, but I gave up and tried that too.

Please help, I'm at my wits end.

Edit: I got it to work by updating to the newest non-A10 beta (Beta 28), then checked for updates in the settings, and just had it download and install that way. Then I did the magisk patch boot method for root, and everythings working fine now.

I was in a very similar place as this post quoted, was in a working OOS of Beta 25 (which I read somewhere is a typo and is the same as 28?). I am trying to upgrade to OOS Open Beta 6. In an attempt to get to 9.0.9 first, I installed the zip from https://www.getdroidtips.com/download-oxygenos-9-0-9-9-0-17-update-for-oneplus-6-and-6t/ and have been unable to boot to system since.

I then tried a factory reset via TWRP, and sideloaded the OB6 zip downloaded directly from OnePlus Support. Same problem, and now my TWRP colors look different. Something's off. TWRP blu_spark 3.3.1-x v. 9.109 is still operational. What do I do?

Edit/update: I tried this post I found and was able to complete every step. Unfortunately, when I tried to reboot to system, it took me back to recovery. What's going on?

"fastboot boot twrp-3.3.1-11-enchilada-Q-mauronofrio.img
Boot to TWRP (this should happen automatically from step 1)
Magisk uninstall
Install A10 full
install TWRP zip file
reboot to TWRP
install Magisk 20.1"

Update about my magisk issue: It seems to be offline and I havent a way to connect it.

Can you check if your internal memory storage, if the Download folder is there?

It seems that your internal storage drive is not functioning normally.

You can try using the "sdcard fix" script, run it in twrp

https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2239421

And see if problem persist.

For you, I will just recommend you to use the MSM Flash tools to get it working once again. After MSM flashing, you will be back to "NEW" device, repeat the whole process as if it's new from box and root again.

Ok. Because previously I am having the same issue. Getting root is and su request normally.

But somehow, my internal storage is not creating folder properly. And Download folder etc is not inside my internal storage. Apps are working fine.

But when there is any download from browser or magisk update, even download of add-ons, all failed.

Thus it comes to me something wrong with internal storage.

Solved by using Mauronofrio's fastboot ROM

Hi, thank you so much for the ideas. You're right, my internal storage was trashed. MSM was also recommended by another person, but it seemed pretty involved and saved it as last resort...

I ended up flashing the 10.3.2 ROM directly in fastboot by following the steps here: [ROM][STOCK][FASTBOOT][OP6] Stock Fastboot ROMs for OnePlus 6 by mauronofrio https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/how-to/rom-stock-fastboot-roms-oneplus-6-t3796665 and my phone booted.

I had this problem (the app would lose the location after a short period of time) with the previous OB, but this time I did a clean flash and it works OK now. I didn't do any permission changes. I've only tried one ride so far; hoping it doesn't revert to its bad old self.

---------- Post added at 11:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:42 PM ----------

The latest OB fixed my problems with Strava getting location data, but I have other problems now.
1) I couldn't get Japanese to display until I flashed the ROM a second time
2) I can't install Netflix; it says my device is incompatible (I also tried manually restoring from Titanium Backup, but that didn't do anything at all, it just kept saying "restoring Netflix..." for about 15 minutes, after which time I gave up)
3) In Magisk manager, there is no "Magisk Hide" tab. I tried reflashing the zip and reinstalling Magisk Manager but no change.
Anyone else experiencing these?.

When I dirty flashed the ROM again to get Japanese back, it wrecked Strava ride tracking again. :crying:
I installed Netflix from APK mirror so that's OK.
I got Magisk Hide to work by clicking a setting in Magisk enabling it.
Now I'm going to do another clean flash. *sigh* Does anyone know how to get all the launcher settings (icons in workspaces) restored after a clean flash? This is why I hate clean flashes: after a clean flash it takes me an hour or so to get all my icons in the places it want them.

Later: I clean flashed but Strava is still flakey (perhaps a little better than before). Also, as before, Japanese doesn't display; all I get are boxes with 'X' in them. Then I noticed that emoji don't display, either; all I get is the boxes with "X" inside. Maybe I need to wipe system, too?

any random slowdowns on the new beta, as they were on any previous A10 build (give it stable or beta)?
Not for me.

---------- Post added at 04:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:15 PM ----------

Actually now running the script is kinda "too late", what I did previously is RUN the SD fix, then factory reset the phone.

Hence all the apps will be able to access internal storage. And create their cache or settings in internal storage folder.
At the end I performed a format data and all is good. Thank you for your time.

Hi,

Anyone else is having trouble with the VoLTE on the latest beta?
It's no longer working here and I can only find the switch for VoWiFi in SIM card menu.
Any ideas?

No pro lems with Volte on latest beta here. I find the switch in settings, along with VoWifi. Calls also connect with Volte. No idea how to fix it, but it seems to be something on your end. I have been dirty flashing the latest build also. I have magisk and Radioactive kernel.

Note: Dirty flashing is fine if you are running an old OxygenOS version or a ROM based on OxygenOS. If you are, however, coming from a Custom ROM, you must clean flash.

Caution: Please remove your existing screen lock/pin/pattern/password and set it to swipe before starting the update process.

    4. Reboot to System
Note: First boot may take some time, so please be patient and wait for it to boot.

[Dirty Flash] For Users with an Unlocked Bootloader and TWRP Recovery coming from Stable OxygenOS, OxygenOS Open Beta

Guys just like to mention here that BETA is its initial stages so expect bugs and broken functionalities. We try our best to test all major functionalities before moving the build from a closed stage to open for you guys to test it further and share your findings as there can be infinite possibilities of something still being broken and that is were you guys come into spotlight :fingers-crossed:

If you take a look around, there are not many OEMs who are offering 9.0 builds even in beta. I don't want to take any names here but some of them have much bigger development teams, staff and resources. We are still working towards the a better and sweeter pie experience for you and that will not only cover the current devices, but will trickle down till the OnePlus 3/3T, for the record, there are very few 2016 devices which will get the pie treatment.

Having said that I truly appreciate your support and participation in OnePlus Beta Program and consider you guys our core community members who give us our true feedback, good or bad always valuable to us.

Thank you once again for your continued support and active participation in the beta program, expect bugs and subsiquent fixes, its a cat and mouse chase

Let's keep the thread moving forward towards positive contributions and a better, sweeter pie experience :highfive:
