Warning: Do not flash partial update OTAs (under 1 GB) on a modified/rooted device! If you want to use partial OTAs, you must first flash the full OxygenOS zip that it applies to, and then flash the partial OTA from stock recovery. Flashing partial OTAs from TWRP will either fail or soft brick your device. You can return to a usable state by flashing one of the above full zips in recovery.

Installation Instructions

Download the necessary files from the section above and follow the steps below:

Note: Dirty flashing is fine if you are running an old OxygenOS version or a ROM based on OxygenOS. If you are, however, coming from a Custom ROM, you must clean flash.

Caution: Please remove your existing screen lock/pin/pattern/password and set it to swipe before starting the update process.

For Non-Rooted Users with a Locked Bootloader and Stock Recovery

  1. Download the full ROM zip from the downloads section above and place it in the root of your internal memory
  2. Reboot to Stock Recovery > Shutdown device > Press Volume Down + Power buttons together
  3. Select Language > Install menu > Install from internal > Select the full zip > Flash
  4. Reboot to System
Note: First boot may take some time, so please be patient and wait for it to boot.

[Dirty Flash] For Users with an Unlocked Bootloader and TWRP Recovery coming from Stable OxygenOS, OxygenOS Open Beta

  1. Download the full ROM zip and TWRP recovery from the downloads section above
  2. Transfer the full ROM zip and TWRP recovery to the root of your device's internal storage
  3. Reboot to TWRP recovery and take a nandroid backup of your existing ROM
  4. From the TWRP menu, Install > Select full ROM zip > Swipe to flash
  5. From the TWRP menu, Install > Select TWRP recovery zip > Swipe to flash
  6. Reboot to TWRP recovery
  7. Flash the latest stable Magisk in case you want to root
  8. Reboot to System
Note: First boot may take some time, so please be patient and wait for it to boot.

Warning: Dirty flashing (update) can be risky! Remember that if you face issues after dirty flashing, you will have to clean flash.

[Clean Flash] For Users with an Unlocked Bootloader and TWRP Recovery

  1. Download the full ROM zip and TWRP recovery from the downloads section above
  2. Transfer the full ROM zip and TWRP recovery to the root of your device's internal storage
  3. Reboot to TWRP recovery and take a nandroid backup of your existing ROM

  6. Reboot to TWRP recovery
  7. From the TWRP menu, Wipe > Swipe to wipe
  8. Flash the latest stable Magisk in case you want to root
  9. Reboot to System
Note: First boot may take some time, so please be patient and wait for it to boot.

Announcement & Disclaimer

While we are on the Beta Thread, I thought this goes without saying, but it looks like some users do not read the thread before they flash the builds. Thus i have added the disclaimer just to make them aware that reading the thread is necessary and i would appreciate if they also participate in the discussions rather than just doing an update and remain silent.

Currently the OTA is paused and thus i have removed the existing build mirrors. It is likely that we will get a new build in the coming days and till then, i would request users to stay on Beta 3 and those who have already updated, no need to panic, please stay on Beta 4. I will update the OP once the rollout begins again with the updated builds.

As i have always said Feedback whether good or bad is extremely important to Me and OnePlus, as it is only on the receipt of such information, OnePlus can assess and improve on the software experience, so please don't shy away from sharing your experience.

Needless to say but i have added the disclaimer on the OP. This is a Beta Thread and things can go bad sometimes. I always recommend to take backup before you proceed or flash a new build. If this is your primary device i would always recommend to stay on Stable builds instead of beta or you should have everything backed up and ready to loose all before you start.

What OnePlus has achieved today is mainly because of its active community and early supporters and OP would like to keep it that way and maintain its focus on the community while building the software to enhance the user experience.

Thank you for your continued feedback and support.

Never Settle

Guys as this is first build, although dirty flash will work but i recommend a clean flash to begin with and use stock system upgrade to do so. Also battery life on this build will not be as good as the stable one so keep that in mind while flashing the build.

I have kept a post reserved and will update the known issues as we test.
Please Tag me @Funk Wizard for whatever issues are faced on the beta so that we can report it to the team directly.

Thanks again for your support.

How to rollback to stable version? I tried to install the full official 9.0.10 but it says that is an older version than actually

    Thread cleaned.
Some posts were pointless, some were useless, most were complaints,
few were mature (but had to be removed since they were part of discussion )

Before posting in the thread , do the following steps.
1.)Read the thread title and first post.
2.) Check if the post you are going to make is relevant to thread
    3.)If not , don't post.

In case you are not happy with a manufacturer/update/firmware/blah-blah-blah then make your decision with your wallets.
Don't go on complaining around random threads for the sake of complaining.

@Funk Wizard any news on beta 8 or stable 9.0.13??

No ETA due to release policy/non disclosure agreement but, both are close. You may have already received the play store update launcher/shelf addition of new features if you opted for beta along with some other updates. The team is working relentlessly on the launcher/shelf and there are many more features planned which i wont be able to disclose currently but all i can say it would turn up to your virtual assistant in the times to come and will give you a lot of information on the go.

Also some additional features/mode is under final testing on the alphas so it should trickle down soon along with other tweaks and welcome additions.

Pie build for 3/3T is all cooked and certified and ready to be delivered really shortly now so once that gets out of the way the focus will be more getting the builds out every 10-14 days on betas & 30-60 days on the stable path.

Also OnePlus OEF Developer conference in to take place in Goa where some of the top developers to come together on one platform early next month which will further step up third party development for the current and upcoming device.

Lots happening behind the scenes so i would thank the community for being patient so far and request for continued support as there is a lot to come in the next 3 months :good:

    Stay Tuned :highfive:
