You can use special package provided by OnePlus. Those packages are available at OnePlus forum.

Beware, your phone gets wipe while performing this step. Make sure to have backup of your device before performing this step.

Why do you want to try out Beta? Open Beta ended for 6T a while back & we'll only get Stable updates.

It says version is lower because it really is.

All instructions, links and downloads to rollback to previous builds can be found in the link below

https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/roll-back-to-stock-android-9-or-10.1215079/

Rolling back to previous versions WILL require wiping your device. Therefore you should backup any important data first.

Do you use Magisk? Which version? Any issues so far?

It's still very early for a verdict and I've only just updated a few minutes ago (wanted to do some minimal backups beforehand just in case).

But maybe a few points:
  • I successfully upgraded from last official Open Beta (from February or March 2020) to new Open Beta 11 through OTA. All my personal data were kept, including phone logs, messages etc.
  • Magisk 23.0 was successfully retained. I ran the regular procedure: download and install OTA, stop all apps, update Magisk to second slot, reboot.
  • SafetyNet is passing as is GooglePay even with LSposed installed.
  • I personally like the new design very much. Very sleek and modern. Looks great in dark mode imho.
  • The launcher crashed a few times initially when I went to the app drawer. There seemed to be an issue with the app icons reloading. After they are back in cache now (or whatever else caused this) everything seems smooth again.
  • Too early to hunt for bugs, and I didn't test much (no phone calls yet) as I'm at work. But first impression is good.
  • As expected I did lose VoLTE though which was also the reason I never went to stable.

Wow! I thought it will come in August at the earliest, I was quite pessimistic, it took them way too long, compared to android 9 rollout.

All of those who do upgrade, please keep us posted on your experience and possible bugs 😎

I have a problem

Today, I downloaded Android 11 Open Beta 1, installed it through system-local upgrade method. Everything was fine.
Then, I tried to boot TWRP on Fasboot Mode by ADB commands, I got error !!!

Qualcomm CrashDump Mode
Attempted to kill init! exitcode=0x0000000b
complete_and_exit

I can't install TWRP recovery on my device now. Anyone else had the same issue ? How can I solve this ?

I tried different TWRP recoveries (including latest one)
I can reboot my device by pressing vol down + power

Is there any compatible custom recovery for Android 11?
I'm utilizing 3.5.2.9 with no issues. Installed a few hours ago. Some minor issues such as settings reset to default when I was editing themes, but second go around went issue free. The other issue is that sometime sim is not detected after restart. It corrects itself after another restart or two, but definitely a little annoying.

Overall, it's pretty snappy. I'm curious to see how this release helps the custom ROM developers given there is a first public release of OP A11 vendor stuff, etc.

I tried fastboot rom, it got worse. I used msm tool to downgrade and later upgraded to Android 11 again. At the moment, I'm using my device bootloader locked :(
Now, I'm experiencing sensor issues. Approximate sensor doesn't work, auto brightness doesn't work. I clean installed the rom.

I even got it as an OTA since I never went to stable build after the end of Open Beta. 🙃

If you want to use partial OTAs, you must first flash the full OxygenOS zip that it applies to, and then flash the partial OTA from stock recovery. Flashing partial OTAs from TWRP will either fail or soft brick your device. You can return to a usable state by flashing one of the above full zips in recovery.

    Installation Instructions

Download the necessary files from the section above and follow the steps below:

Note: Dirty flashing is fine if you are running an old OxygenOS version or a ROM based on OxygenOS. If you are, however, coming from a Custom ROM, you must clean flash.

Caution: Please remove your existing screen lock/pin/pattern/password and set it to swipe before starting the update process.

For Non-Rooted Users with a Locked Bootloader and Stock Recovery

    1. Download the full ROM zip from the downloads section above and place it in the root of your internal memory
    2. Reboot to Stock Recovery > Shutdown device > Press Volume Down + Power buttons together
    3. Select Language > Install menu > Install from internal > Select the full zip > Flash
    4. Reboot to System
Note: First boot may take some time, so please be patient and wait for it to boot.

[Dirty Flash] For Users with an Unlocked Bootloader and TWRP Recovery coming from Stable OxygenOS, OxygenOS Open Beta

    1. Download the full ROM zip and TWRP recovery from the downloads section above
    2. Transfer the full ROM zip and TWRP recovery to the root of your device's internal storage
    3. Reboot to TWRP recovery and take a nandroid backup of your existing ROM
    4. From the TWRP menu, Install > Select full ROM zip > Swipe to flash
    5. From the TWRP menu, Install > Select TWRP recovery zip > Swipe to flash
    6. Reboot to TWRP recovery
    7. Flash the latest stable Magisk in case you want to root
    8. Reboot to System
Note: First boot may take some time, so please be patient and wait for it to boot.

    5. From the TWRP menu, Install > Select TWRP recovery zip > Swipe to flash
    6. Reboot to TWRP recovery
    7. From the TWRP menu, Wipe > Swipe to wipe
    8. Flash the latest stable Magisk in case you want to root
    9. Reboot to System

@Funk Wizard any news on beta 8 or stable 9.0.13??

No ETA due to release policy/non disclosure agreement but, both are close. You may have already received the play store update launcher/shelf addition of new features if you opted for beta along with some other updates. The team is working relentlessly on the launcher/shelf and there are many more features planned which i wont be able to disclose currently but all i can say it would turn up to your virtual assistant in the times to come and will give you a lot of information on the go.

Also some additional features/mode is under final testing on the alphas so it should trickle down soon along with other tweaks and welcome additions.

Pie build for 3/3T is all cooked and certified and ready to be delivered really shortly now so once that gets out of the way the focus will be more getting the builds out every 10-14 days on betas & 30-60 days on the stable path.

Also OnePlus OEF Developer conference in to take place in Goa where some of the top developers to come together on one platform early next month which will further step up third party development for the current and upcoming device.

Lots happening behind the scenes so i would thank the community for being patient so far and request for continued support as there is a lot to come in the next 3 months :good:

    Stay Tuned :highfive:
