I give up, I bought my 6X(USA model) because it was expected to update to Oreo, now I can see that it was pure BS. I won't buy any other Huawei/Honor product and I will advise against getting one of them.

Before you say that is in testing process or that I can manually install 8.0, that's also BS, testing so far is limited to Asian models and having to risk my phone debranding to do something that Honor themselves should have done is stupid.

You literally bought a phone for around $200-$250 and expected 2 years of update?

I'm tired of coming to this thread and seeing a bunch of whiney people complaining about how they're taking their phone for granted and acting entitled to everything... News flash, you are owed absolutely nothing. Please, be happy and grateful you have a working mobile phone, be happy and grateful it isn't made poorly and does do common activities smoothly

Sure its aggravating when you get your hopes up and learn that it has a slim chance of happening now the end. You have to consider the developers at Huawei who work on the EMUI updates, they work hard and for who? The users... Stop acting ungrateful and spoiled, and just hope for the best and expect the worst, and please, for other sanity... if you must complain, do it in this wonderful app called "Notepad" where you write it all down in, then delete your complaints, you'll feel better. Please, let's stay on topic.

Thank you.

You see, honor promised us said update, and i feel disappointed both for us users and devs who worked hard on the beta, and hearing it may all be cancelled really gets my gears grinding. As a company, of you feel that you cannot fulfill a promise, just don't promise anything to anyone.

Honor specifically said that every device you buy from them will get two major releases of Android down the line. For the 6x being 6.0 to 7.0 and 7.0 to 8.0, and again, i'm not mad at honor themselves, and especially not at those in charge of developing new software updates. But to the asshole manager that said at some point: "**** it, we're losing money on our promise, let's just ignore the problem at hand and roll back everything"

Honor never said "We promise all users will receive Android 8 for Honor 6x."... They hoped Oreo will be brought to the 6X, therefore there was no promise to start with.

What if Huawei/Honor released Oreo and disregarded performance, which causes the mobile phone's battery life to diminish, apps to freeze, ect. You would be upset right? You would, then there would be even more complaints. Wouldn't you rather a more stable Android 7.0, than an unstable Android 8.0. Remember, Honor knows best. If they feel it won't work properly, they hold every right not to make a release of Oreo. They want us to have the best, and sometimes the lastest isn't always the greatest. Therefore, if Nougat is more stable than Oreo in their closed testing, then Honor wouldn't like to release an unstable system for a mobile phone who had a stable Android Nougat/Marshmallow to start with.

I feel like they should behave like apple did with their battry related CPU throttling scandal, i know it's a different kind of issue, but hear me out, after public outrage, apple decided to let the user choose wether or not to enable performance throttling

Honor should do the same, of and only the 8.0 program's cancellation is confirmed, let the users decide whether or not to upgrade to a slightly more unstable, but fresher Android version or stick with the old, but stabler ROM.

But closed beta for Asian model is as good as stable and only has minor bugs .....I don't know why they would provide oreo for us in India and not in other countries:mad:
