I bought my HTC One on eBay which is brand new, a replacement from O2 after they couldn't fix the phone in 7 days. Is there any way of determining if my M7 has the new module?

You can check the settings->About->Phone Identity page, and it will show you the IMEI and Serial number.

The 3rd and 4th digits of the Serial number correspond to year and month of manufacturing.

As far as I know, if it's FA3Bxxxxxxxx, then it's made during 2013, November.

If it's FA41xxxxxxxxx, then it's made during 2014, January.

New sensor should have been installed for all HTC One manufactured since October.

Hey, thanks didn't know it was possible to find out, unfortunately though my serial number is in a different format.

It starts with HT34.....

Maybe you can tell?

It's not different.
First two letters are for the fab: HT should be Hsinchu, Taiwan.
The third is the year: 3 as 2013.
Forth is the month (1 to C) and fifth the day (1 to Z).

So after testing last night, I can see that my M7 has the purple tint issue, I phoned up HTC today they have booked it in for repair and will be collected tomorrow.

This is a brand new M7 in terms of condition, I'm quite anxious that they might damage/scratch my phone during repairs, it's being sent to Poland.

Anyone from UK or other places, had there phone sent to Poland and come back in perfect condition?

I actually requested an RMA or replacement of current handset but newer revision build in a enclosed letter, I doubt they'll give it.

they have repaired so many camera modules that they will now do it with their eyes closed. :D

Ok enough is enough. Look this is a development forum. Not some play ground for people to argue about updates to an almost dead device. IF you got the update then cool. IF not then either wait for it or flash one of the zips floating around.

I dont want to have to close this thread but if the childish bickering back and forth then I will close it.

Hey guys, let me step in here and clear up some things.

    1. As much as you may be excited about letting us know you have updated. Don't.
    • If you must say thanks, simply click the thanks button of the OP or the post that helped you, and move on.

    2. Keep all discussion in this thread on topic and helpful.
    • All post should add value to this thread and be helpful to the rest of the community in some way.

    3. Finally, if you are from a different site, don't be coming on XDA telling people they better mention your site.

Sorry for the interruption. Carry on :)
