I'm guessing you have unlocked bootloader so all you have to do is flash twrp 2.8.0.0 via fastboot and flash supersu.

Sense 8/ android m?

Its been a year since android m has come out, and still there are only unofficial versions of cm13 that have a lot of bugs. Prior android versions were released so much faster. Any reason for this, and any sort of eta till when a sense 8 rom will be released for the m7?
I've seen sense 8 roms, and cm13 for the one m8, however the m7 has only got an abundance of sense based lollipop roms...
I've been sitting on the same sense 7 5.0.2 rom for the past year and a half...

Just a reminder. Flashing someone else's nandroid back up is not a good idea as it contains things that are device dependent. You should never flash a nandroid from any device other then the one it was taken from.

I buy secondhand M7 and it using build number 7.18.708.2.. The phone already S-off and CID 111111. The bootloader is lock. I check my friend now using 7.21.707.51 so i want to change the build number same as him.. izzit safe to me to flash 7.21.707.21 ruu in this device.?

The only difference between the 2 version is one being ASIA_WWE region and the other one Asia_HonkKong region. Both versions are compatible with the UL variant and use the same MID so yes you can flash it on your phone.

You can only flash ota update using the stock recovery and if you want to do it manually the phone must be S-off. If it's s-on the only way is to initiate the update is from the OS like a normal ota installation. In both cases your /system partition and /data/preload folder must be 100% stock for the ota to install and you must install updates incrementally (not skipping a version) I.e. from .121 to .130 and then .151. Not following this advice will cause the ota to fail but also a risk of firmware incompatibility (qhsusb_dload brick). Also note that many folks here had softbricked their phones by installing an update on a rooted system ,it was not a problem on kit Kat and earlier versions (you would simply loose root) but now on lollipop it can cause bootloop and you'll have to reflash your rom (or RUU).

Are you sure you want the OTA.zip only ? They are just patches files not full files and I don't see how you can use those patches.

Came here wondering the same thing. Hm, well, it was fun while it lasted.

I recently upgraded to the S7 Edge, just this week actually, so I will finally be moving on from my trusted M7. 3 and a half years.. :crying:

I think I'll flash it back to original HTC Sense software, before I stow it away. For nostalgia etc.

If you're prompted to install the same update over and over that's because the update isn't installing at all, you are probably getting the exclamation mark inside the triangle (failed update). There are numreous reasons why an update can fail to install: modified/corrupted system files, wrong recovery installed are the more frequents causes.

You can see the exact error by pressing volume up and the power button when you see the red triangle (will show the error in yellow characters at the bottom of the screen). Depending the error it might be an easy and fast fix. In the worst case you'll have to reset your phone back to stock using a RUU.

Alternatively if your phone is S-OFF and you don't care about the update, you can change your CID to a fake number so you'll not receive any update notification anymore.

Since I got the nugat update yesterday my M9 seems unable to find the location for any of the clock/weather widgets.Does anybody has that too? Is there a solution you can pinpoint? Also seems the long awaited shared screen using 2 apps is not available!!!!
