Got my Tab E last night and sent it back this morning, I decided to keep my Tab S2 and use the $240 (2yr 2gb contract) towards the new Gear S3 watch when it comes out.
I like the way you think, but sent it back????? If I didn't want to use mine I'd just sell it or gift it and continue to pay for the for the $10.00 data plan. The sim card must be tied to the tablet?

I was able to get the Tab E, totally free. Didn't even have to add a Data plan. Was able to get the free 200MB Data SIM. All I had to pay was the tax, which ended up being $14.04. BTW, I called in for the promo two days after ordering my Note 7.

No hidden fees (as some pointed out in the waiting room thread). I've been w T-Mo for so long, I know how they work. They have a follow up set in the system, so the full price is subtracted after the first billing cycle. Again, no Data Plan (not like I will be using it places where wi-fi won't be available). Not to mention, the 4GB (2GB + 2GB) of free tethering I have on mine and my wife's phone.

I know it's not a beast or anything, but hey, for 14 bucks, you can't go wrong, Perfect for my kids and their videos. T-Mobile has been good to me!

Finally got 2 tabs since i got 2 phones. Not sure why you get the run around when calling tmobile. Took me 4 calls. the tablets themselves are free. What's not free is the data line attached to them. If you get the tabs you can switch the lines to On Demand which is $10 /month. you will get a $10/month credit. This comes with the 200 mb data for tablets. You would then be getting the tablets completely free of charge. See attached image.

Yea, so basically what he said below. I always play the loyalty card. and get sent to retentions, or some other high up. I told them I didn't want to pay a single thing, since that's what was advertised, and then got the free SIM without the 2GB data (200MB free instead). All I had to pay was tax.

I pre-ordered at 9pm on 8/2 and was able to get a Tab E earlier. Just keep on calling and hope to get a rep that will give it to you, it took me two calls.
Are you *sure* they didn't cancel and recreate your pre-order? Cos I just called and was told that the free tablet deal didn't start til the 5th, and the only thing she could do would be cancel my existing pre-order and place a new one.

Thanks for the heads up !! I tried getting CC to give me a credit for the 2gb data they want you to sign up for, but they declined day of purchase (Saturday). Called in today and asked for the On Demand lines and they did it and waived all fees. No out of pocked cost for tax or anything else. Thanks again !

It takes multiple tries and a rep who actually wants to Work. I pre ordered the first day and was able to get it. It just took a while.

Totally agree. I got it in the first go but others had to call multiple times to get a rep who was actually helpful.

Anyone who is claiming of getting the tablet for free needs to reassure if that's actually the case. I went to a T-Mobile store and inquired about the tablet. I was told I will get the tablet for "free" but they'll have to add a 2GB plan which costs $20/month. I will get $10 credit every month meaning I would still be paying $10/month for 24 months & the tablet will be "free" which sounds nothing more than BS. This means over the course of two years you'd be paying $240 per tablet. If that sounds "Free" to anyone here then let me tell you, you're mistaken.

Unless there's a 200MB plan that costs $10/month, which I wasn't notified about by the store rep, in which case $10 monthly credit will take care of that. Then it's free but from my experience, that's not the case.

Damn, you are 100% correct, I just called them back and they said yep it will add 10$ a month to your bill. then they said that there were some other mistakes on how it was added, and offered no restocking fee on a return. Going back tomorrow.

Tell them you want to change the lines to "On demand" the plan is $10 for 200mb, but they give you a $10 credit for it. Comes out to being free....Samsung pays the EIP for the tablet, and Tmobile pays for the data.

I'll give that one a try. Not keeping my hopes up though. Most of T-Mobile reps not have a clue about their job
Ask for loyalty, and then a supervisor. Explain the drama from previous reps and kindly (very important) ask for the On Demand lines. After that it should be cake. Keep in mind they can only add the promo within 14 days of purchase of qualifying Samsung devices.

Has anyone rooted the Tab E and not debloated any apps? If so, could you copy system/app and system/priv-app and send them to me? I debloated mine and then deodex ed the rom. I would like to create a completely untouched deodexed rom for anyone who wants it.
