So, who'd likely be a saygus employee here? Any assumptions?

Honestly, I don't know. but it is really weird that some users here don't accept any criticism to Saygus or its CEO. Like if Saygus the holey God. Those people do really behave like Apple or Samsung fanboys when someone talk no-good about their legend company.

Saygus is a new company with a flimsy previous record. No one has tried the V2 yet. We all do love it before trying it, but we still have the right to discuss the unsound action of Saygus management.

Few Questions for everyone to take their minds off the bad stuff.

1: Whats the first thing you're going to do with the phone other than charge it?
2: Will you attempt to take a shower while using your v2 at the same time?
3: Will you take a selfie with the camera the first day you get it?
4: Will you annoy your friends on social network or work about how awesome your phone is compared to theirs?

1. Set it up? OK, but really, I think I'll try to install another OS on it. Or just play Star Wars KOTOR in my TV screen.
2. No. Ew? But I'll take it on kayaking trips without worrying about it.

4. How could mocking the iPhone annoy anyone? I prefer the term "enlighten". I will enlighten all my friends. And they will just have to learn to love it.

As a side note, does anyone have any good ideas aside from CM or Ubuntu for a secondary OS? Mozilla Phone, maybe? (I would assume they're open source.)

6. Cm12 not cm12.1 plx. I'd also likely to to play with Ubuntu.

Kali OS for penetration testing would rock on a phone like this. Windows 10 would be cool and i dont quite know why.

Id definitely play with ubuntu. Pair a bluetooth mouse and keyboard to the phone and wihd it onto a big screen and test how far i can take the phone in comparison to my surface tablet.

Interesting fact mentioned in video: V² stands for advanced video features. If I remember correctly they were boasting back in 2008. that V-phone is the first phone with double video protocol. This front camera is just a natural progress. I haven't seen this presentation yet, tx for the link.

Zack.TheDark, I am going to keep my eyes on you. It seems that we are going exactly the same way with this baby. I want it with Kali for experiments, and Windows 10 for computer compatibility. I also want to test Ubuntu because I'm curious, but main OS, the one that I will keep on internal memory will be CM (11 or 12) for stability and features.

Camera button is EXACTLY what needs to be done on each and every phone with the camera. I had this on my K750. One safety click to turn it on, and second one to snap the shot. I lost so many good photos because it takes forever to turn the bloody thing on. That includes all of my old androids and iPhones. If OS will be sleeping during that time- then it is like having 2 separate gadgets and great save for the battery. This is pure logic and I can't comprehend why would anyone make phones without such conveniences. Is it so complicated?

Lets look at what we know. 1. The Saygus V2 is awesome, as indicated by many of us who post to this website and have actually preordered it, in hopes of getting it in our greedy little hands as soon as possible. 2. The Saygus V2 has been confirmed with a shipping date of 5/22 by Saygus themselves, who even threw in an extra goody for us! 3. We are now in May, and some people are getting really skiddish. No need to be bitter or mean. My message to all: We will have the V2 in just a few short weeks. Relax, take a deep breath, get your 2 micro sd cards ready, buy your wireless charging pads, for soon we shall all enjoy the true awesomeness which Saygus will provide to us all!!

It's true that there aren't any full reviews out currently ahead of official launch, but the way I look at it, when all the cool tech sites are reviewing the Saygus V2 and are giving it high ratings, I will already have the device in my hands. When the price of the V2 goes up, I will already have the device in my hands. If there is a shortage of the V2 due to high demand, I will already have the device in my hand. When my girlfriend comes home tonight......just kidding. Anyway, I rolled the dice and preordered, without first getting a full review of the device. Just the idea of supporting a smaller business, who had the guts to create a device others just wouldn't, a device that I really want to spend my hard earned on, is kinda like the sports term, a Cinderella story. If Saygus launches the V2 on schedule, and if the Saygus V2 does what the company is saying it can do, then we are potentially witnessing what is known in boxing as a TKO.

Well, my point was that the lack of communication has swayed me from jumping back in after i decided to reorder. Cold feet, yes, absolutely!

I've been extremely supportive of this phone and careful not to post anything negative, but damn, this continued lack of customer service has got me down and just lost them another order. That's bad business any way you slice it.

On another note, the recent improved comms and other details, along with the reintroduction of the pre-registration offer made me reconsider - especially as I now have a credit card which would protect my purchase in the event of a 'worst case scenario', however when I tried placing with the new discount code I got a message saying I could not use that code. Support ticket has been open for 3 days but no progress. Let's see how that pans out, but I'm also ambivalent.

I really hope that Microsoft will make Windows 10 ARM edition nearly identical in compatibility as the standard Windows 10. Problem with ARM though is that in order to get support for this phone either Microsoft will need the ARM version open sourced to the extent so that developers can make it compatible with the V2, or Microsoft would have to make it compatible. I know with the PI, I read an article some where that Windows 10 ARM would be free. Also Windows 10 be free for anyone with Windows 7 and up for a year.

Maybe even make it as a virtual machine for Whonix.

But all the time- quite sure that reducing my speed even more would be awful. Sniffing is different- I don't browse while doing that. If I lived somewhere else, where prices of the satellite data is almost human- I would consider trying Tails. Plus, bunch of apps and features don't work with this device as well.

TOR/Tails is definitely not for normal internet usage. There are special times and special applications for TOR especially in the security world. But, having a quick method of creating a 'torified' connection or gateway would be valuable to me.

I wouldn't expect compatibility with Kali for a bit. I'd not expect much to be compatible with V2 and it's unique hardware set right away. However, we can't be the only ones thinking about using this phone for that purpose, right? How would you think the 60ghz protocol could be used?
