I don't think we can make any kind of educated guesses toward battery capacity since material and manufacturing technique are the main factors in size. The fact that Saygus contracted with Amprius(yet another startup in Sunnvale,CA) for the work complicates things further since little is known about that company.

Good shot of the new layout under the back cover to accommodate the additional SIM card slot. A few people have mentioned that the battery looked like it had a smaller footprint thus potentially increasing the thickness of the phone to keep the battery capacity the same. I don't believe that will be the case as from the rough measurements I took from those two photos after adjusting the perspective, the new battery actually appears to have a slightly larger surface area. We would need straight on photos to actually confirm this though.
The manufacturing of the new layout looks much better than the old one too. Not as rough cut

224 phones sold by saygus since indigo go campaign
Not sure if it's just me, earlier today I was adding the numbers up as well and 224 phones just seems kinda low. I pre-ordered mine on Feb 4th, just a bit over 24 hours after orders opened up, and was in the 1500's. The first actual customer orders started in the 600's, but still that's almost 1000 phones in a single day. When they cut off pre-orders leading up to the supposed May 22 date order numbers were well over 10,000 if I recall correctly.
My guess is any of the early adopters who are the type to pre-order an unlocked phone, either already have an order in from the first wave, or have cancelled and have no interest in ordering again for the higher price after all the apparent incompetence Saygus has shown up until the complete media turnaround in this last week. Also could be that Saygus has gotten themselves enough negative publicity since February that Indiegogo backers are holding off on ordering.

I realize I didn't word that right, I was agreeing with your 224 since the indiegogo campaign began. Only an additional 224 since the indiegogo campaign seems low to me. As you just said, all our pre-orders were listed there as anonymous, but only about $800,000 worth which is roughly 1400 orders max. Have that many cancelled from the apparent 10,000+ that had previously ordered?

unless they plan to use some kind of pressure metal to metal fitting it seems from that device , which is supposedly finished except for some fine tuning, that there is a lack of a connection to the antenna on the back cover. considering one has to remove that back cover to access sim and data card maybe they decided to use a tensioning fitting. maybe those 4 small studs. anyone know for sure?

Has the early bird 600usd changed from x out of 500 to x out of 200???

i think the indiegogo is more about advertising than sales, however if they were to deliver the pre order phones before the end of the campaign i suspect the number of orders would go off the scale, compared to the current dribs and drabs.
I have certainly not yet recommended this phone via indiegogo to my friends since im not sure when/if i ever get the phone. It certainly looks more promising and i wont be cancelling until the likes of andreas and Tony cancel.

Still no proper review or hands on about the phone. That means mostly everything is not working and manufucturing the phone is still on hold until they sort out that they have a fully functional phone. My suggestion, get a refund and buy a device that exist with longer battery life. Like Nokia 3310.

Pretty much agree with you, except of Nokia 3310 . Still much more splurge and show off than actually fully working product. Looks like they are really found new marketing partner to brainwash preorder customers and in order to finance the service of this new marketing partner they've started crowd-funding campaign.

Fractal antenna is not an attached antenna it's just a signal booster
ok, that would mean there is a second antenna that gets the boosted signal that the fractal creates. is that antenna on a chip? if not, i would not think they would put the receiving antenna behind the battery, so is it also on the back cover?

Yes its been changed. Does anyone know if you're entitled to a phone if you buy one from indiegogo? Or can Saygus just take your money and run?

The website says available now at Indiegogo, the new marketing team surely must not know the English language very well.

Am I wrong that from that statement I could get the phone now???
