Sorry all, I cancelled my preorder today. After two months of waiting the excitement for this phone has worn off for me. I'll be looking to pick one up later this year, used most likely. Realizing that my G3, rooted and modded, is plenty good after seeing the latest released phones. G4 still looks interesting but probably won't have root right away so I'll pass on that too. Good luck to you all and press on boldly and patiently!

Well we hate to see you go. But I might not be far behind. If I get a solid USA release date for the zenfone 2 that might do it for me.

was the lack of communication from Saygus your deal breaker?

Communication was a factor in cancelling. I think two more months waiting while they have my $$ is a bigger factor.

If V2 is as good as they hope I'll grab one in the fall of this year used. The fact that LG is keeping the G4 5.5 inches and adding what looks to be an even better camera was part of the decision for me. I usually buy my phones used after 3-6 months of release at $300-$400 max so $550 was a stretch, not financially, just psychologically.

Fyi they replied to my cancel ticket within a couple hours and have begun the refund process of 5-10 business days. So weird that it was that fast yet others are hearing back weeks and months after opening a ticket?!

My biggest concern is progress. It seemed they made very little progress between
January and March. Now we really haven't heard anything definitive since then. My concern is IF they don't have 100% working models today (45 days from ship day) How likely is it that they can get them fully functional, properly tested and into production by that time.

I've been worried about camera software from day one. It's not enough just to put a good sensor in, look at the droid turbo 20mp vs. the Lumia 930/1520 20mp shooter. The turbo gets lukewarm reviews and the lumias get consistently stellar reviews. I've had both phones (1520) and the lumia was much better.

Also, I've been using my 5.5" G3 for video watching and now don't think I want to go back to less than 5.2" at this point. That is a change since two months ago when I thought a smaller phone might work. I'm looking at the lumia 640xl as a back up device to my G3 until i can grab a used V2 or G4, depending on reviews of both phones.

That's true, some companies really care about their cameras. I've been checking out the zenfone 2 as I've heard they are camera enthusiasts.

I cancelled 2 days a go. They got back to me right away about it. I'm still eyeballing the zf2. Apparently there's a battery issue with the 4gb of ram version people ate talking about in the xda thread. Hopefully it gets fixed by the time it chores to US.

@cottle515 @saygus Yes, you are right. It will be the Sony IMX230 sensor.
See more details on my website: http://t.co/k98J5xKQPs

if this is the sensor used by the V2.... I've read that Sony was only releasing the sensor in April (now) so that could of delayed the camera a bit.

Just to show you that the opposite conduct is also possible:
When I watched the interview with Chad from CeBit and read what Andreas had written on his site, I decided to buy a 2nd one.
I have some background information on why the V phone never made it to the public. (Sorry, I cannot disclose that information here.)
That's why I am not worried now.

I know this is the claim but Saygus also stated they had fully functional models at their office that worked great, those statements were made before they would have even received that sensor. How?

They probably had a few samples (first a sharp and then a sony.) I know Motorola and everyone else gets their hands on with the new Snapdragon's before they start shipping them out, It allows companies to develop around the parts before things can start shipping. Sony's new sensor has hit mass production and is being sold in April.

Convince me that there is or going to be a better phone than saygus v2 before June; then I might back out. Can anyone do that? I invite you to try!
For me, i will not get new one in these two months before V2 is released.

MultiROM and klick

Just technical ideas

I wander, how difficult would be to port MultiROM for Saygus V^2? or it would be some original in-house boot manager?

Also, has anyone used klick or pressy headphones plug? is it worth to buy? what is your experience?

New facts I gathered from 3 sources:

1. Fingerprint scanner works with "high accuracy". It has been demoed at CES 2015 but nobody recorded it. And they didn't bother to inform anyone it works.
2. They are considering accessory swap for those who would prefer something else over headphones (3 sources)
3. Verizon still didn't approve
4. Service Team that will work nonstop is about to be hired

Last time, I used Motorola Razr XT910. There is an app called Boot Manager and I always swapped one rom to another. I hope V2 will also have similar app
