I give up! I have tried everything. Including a new sd card. Fully wiped and formatted. I have tried 5 different PA ROMs with two versions of gapps. No matter what I do, I cannot turn hybrid on. It is ALWAYS disabled! If I try to change the user interface to phablet or tablet it all goes to hell! I just don't understand why I would be having so many problems. There must be hundreds of people using this without issue? Is there a way for me to erase my phone and start from scratch? Maybe I messed up the Odin flash? The only thing I can see that I might have done wrong is that I didn't use the Atlas pit when I flashed CWM4fixedforCM7. I just flashed it in Odin3 1.85 without a pit file.

i understand your frustration and sorry if you already had mentioned it. Any of these you havent done?

- Are you on the newest bootloaders?
- Sid flash cm10 when coming up from ics before pa?
- Format system.. , Delete data.., flash PA.., flash gapps.., wipe both caches..?

( during flashing pa from cm10 do you flash it twice? it should start flashing then kick into reboot and rt back into recovery and re flash with gapps. )

I was never on CM10 or ICS. I was on Froyo. Not sure what boot loaders I am on. Not sure what a sid flash is.

I had a brand new, untouched Mesmerize straight from USCC. I connected it to my computer and ran Odin3 v1.85. I clicked pda and flashed the CWM4fixedforCM7 file to my phone. Then I used that to flash the PA zip BBrad had and gapps and the MSS patch. I did all the wipes and formats and such.

When I try to enable hybrid by selecting Phablet or Tablet it tells me I have to reboot. I click ok and it shuts down, then when it turns back on, it loads CWM v6.0.something and makes me reboot the phone. When it loads, I look and hybrid is still disabled. I have NEVER gotten it to enable!

It has been over a week and not a single person has posted to say that Hybrid actually works. I am not trying to be a ****. But... does it work for ANYONE? Maybe it isn't just me?

I installed CM10. Rebooted to recovery. Formatted System, Wiped Data, cache and dalvik. Installed PA (I have NEVER had it tell me it couldn't install PA. It works on the first try, every time!) and latest gapps. Installed MMS patch. Wiped cache and dalvik. Rebooted. Loaded PA, disabled profiles and tried to turn on Phablet mode. It forced me to reboot. I clicked OK and it shut down. When it loaded back up, it went into CWM recovery. Reboot system now and Hybrid is disabled.

Maybe I need a new phone? I have the insurance or whatever it is through USCC. I guess it could be a defective unit.

I just want to see a post from someone who actually has hybrid enabled and working properly on a Mesmerize before I call it game over.

A new phone isn't the problem it isn't defective every phone is different pretend its a person I may like one thing why you may like another for example I can over clock my phone stable too 1.5ghz my friend can too 1.7ghz lol that's awesome! So you can try it but your new phone may not be able too install a custom ROM at all. So honestly flash another jelly bean ROM and hope everything works right. Did you know I can't install cyanogenmod 10 ? I get errors at boot or it goes crazy and random reboots me every 2 seconds for some reason I have too install ROMs based off from AOKP

As I note, I found out what the headphone control issue was. The headphone jack is wired differently on the Fascinate series, and Android v4.0+ reverses audio channels, rendering line-in mics and controls useless. So, disregard my prior post.

As info...I bought my daughter a fassy. She had to have one when she saw jb...she wanted pa black bean, which I had zero experience with...so we flashed her up from stock froyo. She had issues with ROM control...reboots, freezing and no response on some options. So I odin'd the newer GB boot loader... all problems eliminated. She's been running two weeks on black bean with no complaints.

devs have worked for that sweet phone. donate.

PA 3+ 4.2 Status

PA 3+ AOSP 4.2 Status:

- Tablet UI is functional, revived from the dead and PaPrefs ready
- Hybrid bugs solved, statusbar_size and sys/user_default_dpi don't create gaps anymore
- Recents look uniform across all UI modes
- Google/AOSP bug/lag in recents is solved, like butter again
- Tons of minor little things

They going to work on a complete new branch of PA, based on the pure AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The result being, a super fast, smooth, stable, efficient, & cutting edge makeover for the ParanoidAndroid, integrated with our very own powerful Hybrid Engine. With time & progress, all possible features will be merged gradually, to make an All-Round Perfect ROM. :victory:

But how does that affect the non-AOSP devices?
All good! Everything goes on as is! The Legacy devices will be kept under development, for as long as possible.
Thanks to the ever-working CM, their Device Trees & the Base CM Source Code will be continued to be worked upon, & the main line PA progressed. All the features & Engine that you've come to love, stay & develop.

AOSP 4.2 is still a mess. Androidpolice called it the most bugridden Android that has ever existed, i think they've got a point.
