Hey guys I just got the phone, and so far it is very nice. The question is the followring - there is something like a protector on the screen, that is perfectly placed and looks like is manufactured like this, but you can still see the edges of it, so do you guys have the same ? and is it removable or is it part of the screen ?
It is normal. This is the so called anti-shatter layer. It is a screen protector that is glued on the glass with a strong glue. Next to the fact that it protects the screen, it also keeps the glass in place if it would break.
My advice: just leave it there.

More ontopic:
I just had a chat with the dutch sony xperia chat support. The guy did say one interesting thing. He asked his supervisor and they say it is completely normal and nothing to worry about, which of course is ridiculous! He didn't really react though when I gave arguments why this is not normal. And in the end he just advised me to call the reparation company (dynafix in this case), which I'm gonna do later on.

What do you mean with the second part ? I did not understand what are you talking about.

P.S. Can anyone tell me why I dont have a mobile internet ? I have unlimited data and I don't have internet, I tried reseting the phone, to switch on/off the internet data and still nothing. Not even the H/E/3G icon in the bar...

The second part was about the back panel getting unglued and was not specifically directed towards you ;) I contacted Sony service chat and just wanted to share the information.

Not having internet access can have many different causes. Maybe you should try to manually insert your operator settings (APN settings). You can probably find more information about how to do that here on xda or somewhere else on the internet :)

Guys please, stay on topic!

Did anyone of you try to open and close the back panel without replacing the adhesive strip, for instance just to lower the nfc springs?

Would it be a nice idea to put the paper cilps on the device and blow with a hair dryer.. This woupd cause the glue to nelr and at the same time the paper clips would press the glass down without any further delay.

This would hope put the glass in place .

Yeah, but when next time the phone heats up, the backplate will loose again.

Anyone popped a crisp 20 in with a note asking for an unlockable bootloader too? ;) Joking aside, my back panel is lifting on occasion though I can press it back down for a bit. Week 10. No questions asked on Xperia Chat so they probably know this is happening and will just fix it.

Cause I really want to buy this phone but that issue damn

So, waiting for answers.

Thank you!

what do you mean by later weekes? mine was produced in week 25.should i be worried? plz answer cuz daily i check my back glass. im so paranoid
Most of the people with issues only seem to have handsets made up to around week 15 I think. I heated mine up a bit using 3d Benchmark then held that corner tightly for about ten minutes whilst it cooled down. It hasn't bulged again yet.

and how long did you heat it up before and what week was your phone made?

Isn't it counterproductive to purposely heat up the phone until the glue melts and then press it down again? Wouldn't this harm the waterproofness even more? I'm also wondering, what makes you believe, that once you've heated up the phone with 3d mark and then pressed until it cooled down, that it'll stay that way in the future. I mean, the phone will heat up again with other apps or games.

There are three with week 21, two with 23 and even one with week 26 who have it! Although, the newer the production week is, the smaller is the amount of affected phones. That's great for these users, but not for me.

Ran the ice storm test once and the ice storm extreme test twice, and held it for about ten mins. week 10 2013. Only did it this morning though so remains to be seen how long it lasts, but I've run it under water and so far no problems.

Sony support chat said on Friday that I can actually return it to have it fixed but I am off on hols soon so might have to wait to do that.

ah okay! Can you please also answer my additional questions? I've added them after your answer I believe.

Yes, I've also chatted with Sony support once and they said right away that the lift is a problem and needs to be examined/fixed and I should sent it in. The problem is, that I don't have any time for that as I need my phone every day!

They also want to perform a factory reset but I don't want to backup the phone and reconfigure it for hours afterwards. I don't see the point, cause it's not a software issue.

I don't think it will harm the waterproofness more, but YMMV - to me, having it heated, reset and cooled would at least keep the back plate where it should be for a while. It may not stay this way in the future, though it may be that the initial issue occurred in the older firmware, and the cooler temps in 4.2.2 won't cause it to manifest again. But I admit this is a quick fix and all conjecture :)

I think there are really two choices here - get Sony to fix it for you and be without your phone, or sell it on to some poor unsuspecting schmuck ;)
