There are three with week 21, two with 23 and even one with week 26 who have it! Although, the newer the production week is, the smaller is the amount of affected phones. That's great for these users, but not for me.
To have a better insight in the results I created a little graph. From week 17 onward, there are just too few results to be conclusive. It seems though, that those weeks are affected as well (at least up to week 27).

My back glass is lifted, ran in the storm just now and my Z's power button and volume down button is not working at all. Everything else is functioning fine. Will put it in a bucket of rice and see what happens.

that should clearly be a warranty issue as the lifted back panel was caused by bad glue and is a manufacturing defect. That's why water came inside the phone. I'd suggest that you sent it in for repair!

Could you please provide photos, so that we can see how worse your back glass is lifted and for others to judge if there's still okay or not?!

Have you already filled in the survey from my signature?

Sony's support site is up and running again after a couple week's maintenance.
EDIT: I can't seem to log in there anymore though. I've sent them an email about the matter.

The Sony support forum is online again. Perhaps some of you could push the thread "SONY please fix all faulty back glass plates (backs coming loose and lifting up)." with a nice post. I am still waiting for an answer from Sony...

I do not have another phone on hand to take pictures right now. Camera and flash badly fogged up, power button and volume buttons seems to be working fine now. I have foiled up the form already. Now my phone is sitting in a bag of silica gel :(

Edit: MicroUSB and headphone jack water indicators are pink

if you don't have a camera or other phone with you, but can you describe how big the lift is? Like how much it stands out from the rest and if it is only on that particular corner or also on other parts of the phone?

I'll try to take pictures later when my dad is back. In the mean time, my phone has been sitting in silica gel for 1h 40m ++ now, camera doesn't seem to be defogging, should I leave it overnight?

yes, you should open all flaps and leave it there for at least 24 hours so that water which might still be in there can get out.

Just to let anyone interested know, my phone became water damaged because of this faulty back plate coming loose. I just got a swap unit back under warranty.
Sony does fix the faulty ones but I think it's important that the service center documents and photographs your issue thoroughly. If possible photograph and document the problems yourself and include it with the phone.

So I guess my phone's back glass became worse over time. I didn't do anything special with it, just used the phone. I don't think it's waterproof anymore at this stage. I also believe that the lifted back glass extends almost up to the power button and also halfway to the right corner of the device on the upper back side!

Have a look at the photos. The first three are magnified, the fourth one is the original size to get an overview about the issue.

I'm going to post this also on the Sony support thread (http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperi...-plates-backs-coming-loose/td-p/346370/page/3) and since they allow photos now, I'll see if I can attach some "eye candy" to my posting there!

I have had no problems with the back cover lifting. But as a precaution, I've been using a hard back case. Now the structure of the case is such that it doesn't allow any movement. So there isn't any scope for the back glass to lift. Maybe you guys could opt for such a solution?

My first XZ has had the back glass lift before, and I did not notice it much, until water decided to go into the phone from the back panel. Placed it into some rice after that for 2 weeks and the water still refused to budge from under the screen. I guess if water is not supposed to enter, then it sure is not coming out. I sent it in to Sony for repairs and they replaced a brand new model for me, I have a silicone case on now and I hope that it will keep it in place when the phone heats up and unglue the back.
