Do any cases work with the docks?

I have the Incipio Feather case and have removed the insert as discussed to use it in the Multimedia dock.

I searched around on many forums but found no discussions about the "larger case" insert, for at least the Multimedia dock.

It's listed in the manual as part number SJYN0722A. I only find four Goggle hits if you enter that part number and they all are PDF's. The included insert for no case, thats already in the dock, is part SJYN0723A. The manual insinuates that it is included with the included parts when purchasing the dock and is for use with a "ruggedized" case.

Their is also a reference at Motorola's FAQ on accessories (I haven't made my eight post yet to include the link :( ) about the same insert being used for their "2 shot battery door fit plate". And it again specifies it is included with the dock.

Anyone have this insert or know anything about it? Was it discontinued before the docks were even released?

The manuals for the docks I got recently doesn't insinuate that the insert comes with the dock. It clearly states that it has to be gotten separately:
"Use insert SJYN0772A when using a Motorola brand ruggedized case (each available optionally)"

I think that it really referred to the "case's" are available optionally....

But in any event, another forum member found out that the larger insert (SJYN0722A) was indeed missing from initial shipments of docks from Motorola per Customer Support. What's shipping from them now is supposed to have both inserts included with the docks.

Was told to return the dock if purchased from them and they would refund. Mine was from Amazon, so I'm returning it to them now and getting a new one from Motorola that hopefully has the insert.

I also seen from another post that the "ruggedized battery cover" from Motorola comes with the insert also. It is part # 89491N.

Incipio feather doesn't work with the standard desktop dock:-( but at least the case is easy to remove unlike the speck case...
Wish Motorola sold a different insert to replace the one that comes stock on the Standard Dock.

I wanted a cradle to charge my phone in and hold it up on my desk. I ended up cutting part of the Standard Dock with a dremel to make the Atrix w/ Feather fit. I think the insert for the ruggedized cover would fit the Feather without modification, but for now cutting works (the inserts are replaceable).

Haven't had time but I was hoping to dremel the case where the the female inserts go and taking out the lapdock insert. If I play around with it enough it works with no insert and the feather case but its a pain. Wish I could clear my calendar for a week and focus on all the little tweaks I need to do but all in good time I suppose^_^ maybe Motorola knew we'd be bored with a locked bootloader so they gave us all these little things to work out^_^

Pop it off and you can use any hard or soft case with it. I use an otter box commuter series.
Here is how;
With the doc facing you and the Motorola logo on your right Insert your thumb nail or anything that fits in the slot pull up directly to towards your face and it pops off.
Then plug you’re hard or soft cased Atrix in the Standard Docking or HD version. They should have called the standard a power doc or bedside clock stand. Because it doesn’t support connecting it to your PC’s USB port wtf.?!.

I went on live chat and explained to them that i was missing the dock inserts(told them the part number and gave the product page off the bat), gave them my order number and they shipped me 2 with a tracking number less then a day later. best interaction ive had with moto ever! (have a defender but recently got a rugged battery door to try out)

/-/377 yeah!! Rugged battery cover (www.cnn.cn), definitely the best accessory ever. Check out the xda thread with video review.
