I would try out OtterBox's new "Pursuit Series" case..... if they would make it for the Note8 also and not just the S9 & S9+.

My otterbox defender is the best case ever. I drop my phone twice weekly . Been following the thread form the 1st post. So for those of you with this problem just lay toilet paper inside the hard shell. It will act like an extra layer of absorbent defense to your phone.

OtterBox caused my Note 8 to crack on corner.

Every phone I have purchased since 2005, I have used OtterBox on. ( My wife and I ) and I got her a new phone every4 to 6 months. Anyway
Otter box for the Galaxy Note 8 is junk. My phone fell out of my holster 3 foot to the ground and broke the top right-hand corner of my phone. OtterBox if you read this I am very disappointed in your piss-poor design for the Note 8.

Can confirm, Otterbox is junk.

The port protector rubber just simply peeled right off in one week. I cannot press buttons on this case properly either because of gradual degradation of the vol+/- rubber grip.

The inner plastic itself has just simply snapped without any impact.

Well, at least it was only $30 for me (almost every case is around the same price due to resellers gouging prices).
I have had a film protector on the back of it - it does not slide around.

I used to have one for a Note 2 (when Defender cases had the screen protector), and later on a Moto G. Not the same materials on this case, clearly cheaped out on materials.

Unfortunately you're buying a brand name and not quality anymore.

We should start a class action lawsuit against otterbox. They owe many people new phones for their **** design. The issue with the defender case is the design. Hard plastic is up against glass. The plastic does not yield when impacted, causing breakage. Lets sue the bastards.

Really.....

How about not trying to balance your phone on your shoulder and then complaining when it falls and breaks. Seriously, these case are meant to help protect and are NOT a guarantee of phone protection.

serious but obvious design flaw

No not in the case holder. I was done with a call and went to grab it off my shoulder and didn't grab it all the way and fell. I email them yesterday and just waiting for a repply back. If not I'll be making a call soon.
i had mine 3 months with an otterbox defender and mine fell from waist high when my leg knocked it out of my hand and it landed face down it hit the plastic front part of the 2 part case and my phone took the impact not the case. i had defenders on my other note3. 4, &5 and they were the best out there because the rubber took the impact. Upon calling otterbox in colorado to discuss the matter of an obvious, from the first day i bought the case, design flaw they insisted that they were "Rigorously tested?and asked if i was an engineer. lol. i said because had they made the outside rubber over lap the plastic front rim of the frame instead of bring it only parallel to the side it wouldnt have broke. " they couldnt do that because then it would have interfered with the side bars" but it was an incident that has probably happened to quite a few people at least once. holding the phone face down and dropping it with the case on it 10000x should have been the first test otterbox performed. plain and simple they dont know how to protect the "Infinity Screen" . i asked well there is the otterbox gurantee? they said "they will replace their case if it breaks but your phone but they aint paying for a new screen". i told them i should have used a lifeproof case cuz at least, during their inception anyway, they guranteed your phone if their case failed. i was then told that Otterbox owns LifeProof and that policy no longer existed. i felt like i just got punked on the playground. im still furious everytime someone says otterbox.

Does anyone know if the Mnml case will fit inside the plastic of part of the OtterBox case? Maybe more protection. I have the pro series and I don't want my phone to break.

I noticed as soon as I got the case it was not the same quality as my flat s7 OtterBox. On the s7 case there was a nice thick layer of rubber that was on the back plastic panel that wrapped the phone.
