I thought so but there is no way to make a backup it's only for transferring the data from old to new phone.. as far as I understand..

Can you explain what this means:I've been using X30 Pro (stock ROM) for a month.
Work fine:
Things that do not work or partially work:
- Play Store (build-in) - it can't update itself, but can be updated from moto App Center
- Contact (need to install Google Contact Sync from moto App Center or from other apk source, otherwise account sync will not work)
- Google One, Gmail, Keep, Docs etc
- Google Pay - no issue with adding credit cards, and NFC payment
- Google Assistant - voice matching option greyed out, so hey google does not work. Voice input works however.
- Android Auto - not working
More nails in the coffin for me to personally avoid a CN version phone.Yeah RetCN does provide option to manually enable Play Services, not all services available though. While contacts syncing has been resolved with GoogleContactSync installed, Voice Match, Location History, Nearby Share, ASI & more stuff remains not functioning, not to mention the absence of Data Transfer Tool (GoogleRestore in RetEU ROM) that may accomplish a fully transfer from retired old phone.
Experiences of Google services on a China devices are so terrible. Even so, Motorola has distinguished X30 Pro from Edge 30 Ultra through various methods, CTS profile for instance.
Ready For through type-c -> HDMI cable and my VISA + Mastercard work fine on X30 Pro CN firmware.Do NFC, ready for over usb and sim card is working in Europe with Chinese firmware on edge x30
Your sim card is also working?Ready For through type-c -> HDMI cable and my VISA + Mastercard work fine on X30 Pro CN firmware.
Can you explain what this means:
Will I not be able to voice dictate to ask Google a Question?

Good to know. ThanksYou cannot use "Hey Google" but definitely can use Google Assistant by opening Google search.

I don't know why the global rom doesn't have the same options, I want to try the CN in my reteu. In my experience, I 100% prefer CN ROM since it has Motorola's full suite of software features you couldn't find on the Global ROM.
The biggest advantage for me is the Motorola Device Shield app where you can configure what is running in the background as well as natively lock apps. Not to mention it has native app cloning which commonly used in Asian countries as people almost always have dual SIM.
And the biggest advantage is the timely software updates which is lacking in Global ROM.
Don't convert. Motorola's "ThinkShield" policy is stricter than any other OEMs. Once you unlock the bootloader, you can never re-lock.I don't know why the global rom doesn't have the same options, I want to try the CN in my reteu.

You will also get a nasty "bootloader unlocked" message whenever you restart your device.
And lastly, you can never update your software over-the-air because of unlocked bootloader.
Hi, I know, but I like being able to install magiks roms by fastboot, etc. I'm already testing the Chinese stock version, much better than the retail one.Don't convert. Motorola's "ThinkShield" policy is stricter than any other OEMs. Once you unlock the bootloader, you can never re-lock.

Wrong. Bootloader can be relocked without consequences (when done right) and OTAs work with unlocked bootloader.
If the hardware is exactly the same shouldn't it be possible to just flash the other firmware?
I remember changing the firmware on my Locked Moto X4 using other variants of the firmware no problem whatsoever.
I even once tried the Amazon ad ridden firmware just for the laughs.
Locked bootloader policy? It did had when it came to actually installing a custom ROM, TWRP, etc I had to unlock.Older devices don't have this policy. I enjoyed tinkering with my old Moto Razr "i" last time.
I did not object to the splash screen. As you can see in my post history I had the x30 Pro / Edge 30 Ultra, which has working OTAs with open bootloader (unless rooted) and can be relocked according to my guide.Since you are 100% confident on this, which latest Motorola device are you using right now that has unlocked bootloader with no nasty splash screen and OTAs working?
Read below
Pls don't spread false information that bl can be RE-LOCKED because Motorola modders know it will brick your phone
Convert your Moto x30 Pro (CN) to Edge 30 Ultra (EU)

Well thank you for the insight...for sure this Istanbul's guy is someone from Motorola or at least has some Motorola tools![]()
