Do you feel Samsung should hurry with the Note 8?

The S8 is rumored to cost a whooping 1000 EUR. Kind of sleezy, trying to gain money back from customer they scr***d over with N7. At least it won't be bendable LMAO.
Edit: plus the launch is delayed till April 2017. It is good in the sense that Huawei P10 will be out roughly the same time (projected at 700 EUR) so we will be able to choose and compare.
What this delay means for Note8 though... it means that people with models older than Note5 won't wait that long.

If that holds true in the US I can't see it being a popular phone. Over $1000 for a phone they must be nuts.

I have zero problem with that as my note 7 cost $1200 and didnt bother me at all...totallly worth it. The thing is that us note 7 owners who had to put up with all this crap should not be paying full price on the next sammy device.

So if they dont discount us Samsung can take a flying leap and I will spend my money elsewhere

It cost you 1200? Wow, you got duped. Mine was around 720 and would have been only 880 without contract.

I've also heard that it's supposed to be cheap to try and make up for the N7 debacle. Don't know what cheap is, but I assume around the $700-800 range. I've also heard the N7 owners are supposed to get a 50% discount, but I think that may only be for the ones that traded theirs in for an S7 etc... Lots of rumors floating around. I definitely don't want a foldable , bendable or dual screen N8. That seems to be the hot rumor now.

Canadian $.
I paid $1350..You can see my profile where I am from. Of course I pre-ordered directly from Samsung, so RRP but they threw in a 250G SD card as the "enticer".
Dunno why everything is crazy cheap in the US even after exchange rate is taken into consideration, maybe economy of scale, Samsung can live with less margin if they sell 5 times more in US vs AU & Canada.

Oh. I was talking USD. If he was talking canadian $ I suppose it is roughly the same. But I bet he would not want to pay 1200 USD. Or 1000 USD for an S8.

But if you paid 1350 AUD, you overpaid compared to US, Can and Europe.

Anyway, I think they should stay in the range of 700 to 800 USD for s8. 850 USD at most for Note8. And huge discount for people who got screwed over by buying N7, regardless if the exchanged it for s7 or not.

Huawei raised their prices for Mate9. You can see they are trying to vulture over Samsung's loss. But they are not getting my money this year. Not until competition is fair again (I guess april 2017 when both s8 and P10 are coming out). Then I will see which brand to go with.

External accessory imo is cheap. They've been making the Note series for years. I'm sure they can incorporate a fixed storage on the s8 for it. Interesting how the rumors multiply as the dates come closer. Hope we get to see something Concrete in January regarding release/announcement

Do you think Samsung will ever tell us what the problem with N7 was? They promised to disclose the info by end of the year. Well, it is end of the year and nothing. Several news said they know what the problem is, just double checking it with undependant labs. So where is the explanation they promised? Another eaten promise?

There are now reports that not the S8 but the Note8 will be foldable and that Note8 will be made in only small numbers first to test the market. I guess they realise this whole folding stuff is a gimick and not very usable. I don't see myself testing something that could potentially go wrong again with my money. If Note7 went wrong because of the design, think how wrong something foldable can go when everything inside can move and potentially break. And foldable phone seems ridiculous to me right now. I don't even like the projected look of it.

Plus how are we supposed to protect that kind of phone with a case. And a dual screen one too. Edge screen was hard enough to protect though at least Tech21 evo tactical case did an awesome job there!

On AU I posted the new specs of the s8. Now with 8gb ram but still listing the 3000 mHa battery. With the 830 chip and or the exynos chip and at 8gb ram Samsung needs to bump that battery up....lol
