Do you think ICS will make things any better for us/the Sensation?

I just voted 5 stars and I totally agree with OP on most of the issues.

I am so happy for 60% of Sensation users without issues, but rest of use either facing serious problems with that phone or at least some issues. I faced problems as well:
1. Battery life - anyone who claims he is ok with battery either sacrificed everything or is a light user, both solutions are ridiculous, I need to carry second battery in my pocket because I'm 16 hours a day outside my flat and with 3 hours screentime I don't get more then 14 hours battery life even on Anker, and with 5 hours screentime which happens quite often I get around 10-11 hours.
2. Touchscreen bug - yes fixed but again, it should not be there in the first place
3. Stock ROM - do I even have to comment on this? Seriously I do like to change ROMs root my device etc. but shouldn't smartphone be attracting wider audience? People who for various reasons don't want to root/s-off/hack/develop/upgrade their device? Seriously what is HTC thinking about ?
4. Custom ROMs on sense, mostly good but they do not offer improvement really comparing to Stock ROM, maybe it is just me because I don't like sense, but simply whatever you do with sense it will not work good with this phone
5. Non-sense ROM-s, most that I tried were so full of bugs that I could not believe it or they had no official version for Sensation, I don't know is it specification of that phone that is so hard to develop something flawless for that device or is it something else, here massive thanks to people who developed and shared Hypersensation ROM, it is the best and bugfree ROM I have seen so far for that device and I can clearly say that there is no lags and finally I am happy about performance. But seriously I should be happy with stock ROM and delighted with any custom ROM, but with sensation stock ROM is big let down and you need to spend some serious time to find good non-sense ROM, seriously with previous devices I was delighted with any custom ROM that I tried but with this, no such luck.

To summarise after fixing most of my bugs, looking long for good ROM and buying two additional batteries I will stick to that device because it got some advantages on Hypersensation ROM (like excellent smooth PDF reading) but most of them I had on Desire S and HD (and similar speed if you compare Stock ROM!!!) and I am severely disappointed with that device, for 150 quid I wouldn't say bad word about it, but for 270 quid I feel that amount of bugs and problems is unacceptable. HTC simply rip us off.

TO ALL who love their SENSATION: I did not meant to upset you, I am delighted that you do not have described problems, but your viewpoint does not change my experience and nothing that you will say will really change it. We either value different things in phone, or we use them differently, or your device is slightly less faulty then mine, no point to argue. If I would be the only one with those problems then fair enough I would say that I got faulty device but this forum is full of this and simply, closing or bashing our opinion is nonsense because people should be warn that if they value similar things, they might have experience closer to mine then to yours, so they should think twice before buying that pone.

If you have such problems, some of them are not sensation's fault, so don't judge it carelessly like that. ICS won't bring fix to hardware issue for sure, but sluggish performance can be fixed.

I love the ICS port on my Sensation. The stock ICS desktop is awesome. I hate sense and always use a desktop replacement, but with ICS, it reminds me of how i set up my desktop on the replacement. So, yes i think ICS improves our Sensation's.

When did you buy your phone? As someone who bought a few months after release, I have a grand total of zero of the problems you describe (the volume issue may just be because its not an issue for me personally, though)

In fact, though I need to update my signature, I actually went back to stock because it performs SO well without any bugs introduced by custom development. Even at default cpu speed, it runs fantastic.

Very well said mate. People value different things but god beware if your opinion is different then that of some... haters gonna hate, that's about it. Imagine we people with problems would invade their threads and spit on all owners who describe how happy they actually are with the device

Other than that, a friend from my band has the same phone and is on stock. He has it for 4 months now and no power button issues at all. I Guess around 1/3 of these phones are lemons in SOME way, be it dust under screen, power button or whatever.

I will now return my device for repair and hope they will replace it. It's actually just the power button thing but I will also tell them I have touchscreen issues (they are gone now but still...). Seeing that most XE users are happy my hope is that with recently produced models they fixed at least some flaws. Well and the performance thing, I guess it's the same for all units and if anythign canfix that at all, its ICS.
Oh and I'll sure try the ICS port, thx for input on that.

I hate the load speaker

It needs a better loud speaker. I would like it to take pictures as fast as the iphone. But My girl and I love the camera quality.
