ok so the included charger is only .7A in output so it charges slower. i tried switching to my old iphone power block (rated 1A) and using the attached usb cable because its higher output should theoretically charge the phone faster.

however, when using the iphone power block, upon insertion of the usb cable, the phone thinks its running off USB not AC. this can be confirmed by going into settings > about phone and seeing if it says "charging (AC)" or "charging (USB)". i have no idea why this is happening.

usb charging is limited to .5A maximum, so using this power block actually resulted in SLOWER charging than with the included charger. has anyone tried any other higher output chargers that allowed them to charge over 1A?

I see the same issue with the ~1.1A Belkin charger that I have for the 3GS. It defaults to USB...there has to be some trigger somewhere.

Has anyone tried dissecting the charger and checking for chips? :p

So, back on topic of OP, does anybody else's phone perform sluggishly when charging? My screen and keyboard are annoyingly unresponsive when the phone is plugged in. Unplug it and it's fine.

NOTE: this isn't a thread about charging, but performance issues while charging. Charging is pretty quick on QuickCharge 2.0
