Question Does anyone have working GCAM for the S22 SD base?

Search This thread
I am using US (Tmobile) Snapdragon S22 base. Got the ruler apk and the first one at top of list on link. Both crash immediately upon opening repeatedly. Cannot get to stay open long enough to get into settings. Any ideas?
-Josh
You need to immediately switch to video mode to stop it from crashing out. Then you can load the xml settings and it should work afterwards.

Hi, may I ask where is the "load config" function? I can only see the following:
1. Remove config name
2. Save config
3. Import ready-made config

If I choose (3) the app will just restart itself. There is no config selection.
Thanks for sharing!

Any first opinions in quality compared to stock app?

I can't seem to install "LMC8.4_R8_samsung.apk"

After tapping on the .apk, rather than the usual "do you want to install" instead I get "do you want to update"
If I press OK, it says "App not installed as package appears to be invalid"

Strange as I can't find LMC or Gcam installed elsewhere.

Out of curiosity, I tried installing "LMC8.4_R8_snapcam.apk" which installed fine.
Camera mode will crash, can quickly get into video mode.
Tried loading the config file but then it will start crashing as soon as it loads.

Any ideas of how I can get "LMC8.4_R8_samsung.apk" installed?

The versions most compatible with our device will ind in "ruler.apk" or "scan3d.apk" . There should be several available from different developers. Currently I have MGC_8.1.101_A9_GV1zfix_scan3d installed and all lens are working

Guessing you may have Samsung's Quick Measure app installed, since LMC uses its package name to access the aux lenses. If so, uninstall that app first and then try installing the LMC version for Samsungs again.

Tried MGC_8.1.101_A9_GV1zfix_scan3d and it was the same.

The problem was Quick Measure as mentioned by Synapsesburned.

Which config are you using?
Camera x3 doesn't work for me. And without any config it works quite ugly.
I put the config for the S21 vishals21ubsgvibhu2.xml and HDR+ and astro work very well, but not the x3 camera.

Here's my working config for all 3 rear lenses using LMC8.4R8.

Create an LMC8.4 folder in root storage and copy the xml there. After installing the Samsung specific port from the link above, open and accept permissions and immediately toggle to video mode and load the config. Good to go.
Thanks. This totally worked on my S901E (S22 SD)

Have you been able to get R9 working? That xml crashes for me on it.

Oh that's weird. After updating to R9, the main lens is crashing during capture for me as well. Thanks for the heads-up.

To fix this, you can go into the gcam settings, then system settings, then hardware level format and change the main lens from auto to full. The aux lenses still work normally for me.

Here's an updated xml with the fix for R9.

Thanks for all the hard work on this. Going to get this setup on my S22 base sometime this week. Cheers!

Hey guys, I don't have this particular phone but did play around with my cousin's to generate the following config. As the previous people have noted, the S22 base model's freezing issue is resolved by using the RAW16 setting, merge method 0, API setting to Full, and viewfinder to YUV.

Here is the config I came up with for AGC v8 GCam 8.4.

Steps to setup:
- Download and install the APK and give it the requested permissions (may need to uninstall previous GCam builds if using same Scan3D package name)
- Download the zipped config and extract the zip file
- Open the app and load the config (swipe down > load configs)
- Import lib (go to settings > libraries > copy third party lib to app)
- Load lib (settings > libraries > load custom library)

I've S22+, port gcam's picture and video quality, as of today, is not better than stock cam which is only missing Photo Sphere. I like gcam for years, but Samsung has now caught up IMO

Does this resolve the shutter lag? That's the only thing I'm interested in finally getting rid of

Edit: no it does not

Tried installing few mod ones for S22 Ultra but kept on crashing.
If anyone have a gcam working for S22 or s22+ Snapdragon, please share!
