I went ahead and read the legally binding agreement on the Motorola Unlock Bootloader page and it said, quote "(11) User will not operate a Device that has been unlocked on any Wireless Carrier's network unless such Wireless Carrier approves of the operation of such Unlocked Device on its network (Note: Many US carriers have not approved the operation of Unlocked Devices on their network);" un-quote. I need cellular service. So, does Cricket allow unlocked bootloader devices on their network?

Devices bought from any Cricket vendor have locked bootloaders and cannot be unlocked. Now on the other end if you have a device that is carrier unlocked from another company which so happens to already have an unlocked bootloader shouldn't be an issue
