How does a phone without it perform? It says you should NOT remove the pre-applied protector unless you apply another.

I've had no issue whatsoever with it. The screen protector it comes with is good enough for use initially, and I've got some glass protectors on the way to replace it shortly. It is a slightly odd decision by Huawei, but if you plan on using a protector, it shouldn't really matter with regards to diary use. If you're not, then I guess your cleaning cloth will have to never be far away from reach! :p

Why did you remove the factory installed screen protector?
Because the first unit has a dead pixel, I had to make sure it is not a piece of dust between the glass and screen protector. The second unit has a piece of dust between the two layer and I had to remove the film to make sure it is just a piece of dust. The protective film just arrived now from eBay so after these lines put it on.
