You need to install the file named microG. But it keeps going back to default version. Used stock not rooted black version will try regular

crop to fit icon was there until yesterday evening then suddenly it's gone today, running v12.44.52


edit: look like use 2 finger to pinch out will work just like crop to fit

Fix:

1. Update YouTube to latest version
2. Power down your phone. Wait for 2 mins.
3. Switch on your phone.
4. Open YouTube.
5. Start any video. It will show you instructions about pinch to zoom

Lol weird I have the crop button it crops but doesn't full screen...but i have pinch to zoom as well...they both compliment each other...lol

I downloaded the apk and updated the YouTube to the latest version but there seems to be no solution for me. I'm using Brazilian carrier note 8 and no matter what, I ve never been able to see neither the pop up for the full screen neither the pinch to zoom ability. Anyone has any solution for this?

Try clearing out the YouTube cache in setting/apps

Reboot and see.

Also can try clearing the cache and uninstalling the YouTube updates (in the same menu ,settings/app/YouTube and click on 3 dots an uninstall updates) then reinstall the 12.44.52 version and see.

That version 12.44.52 works on my n950f with pinch to zoom.

Thank you. I have no idea what I did, but later on the pinch function started to work out of nothing and now i can load the videos fullscreen.

Well, I will say that it started working for me.. And one thing I must admit that I like, that the crop to fit didn't do, was stay that way throughout the whole viewing session (until you closed the app, no matter how many videos you watch..).. That is a welcome change.. But now, I have a question: what I'm the world do we do with our crop to fit button? I guess it's not a big deal since it disappears in a few seconds..

Lol, I still hold my original comment that they shouldn't mess up our devices to make other phones better...

I have found the solution... look up "[Non-Root] YouTube Vanced" and download it. I'm new to this site so I'm not sure if I can post links. But once you download it.... you can "pinch to zoom" in your YouTube app to go to full screen. Also I've found that it also gives you other cool YouTube features that the stock app doesn't allow prior to this install. The one I use, is now the factory setting on YouTube videos now automatically play in 1440p or their highest video setting without me having to change it in the setting after the video plays. May sound like not a big deal to you, b but it's a very big deal to me. Especially since I have unlimited data and I always have a perfect connection in the area I live and work, this note 8 has once again become my favorite phone.
