After checking, I've seen that MT4G is also 802.11a capable (not only b/g/n like our Sensation) which means it's a dual band device.
Sensation on the other hand is not.
Not as GSMArena recalls it.

Straight from GSMArena:

HTC Sensation

GPRS Up to 114 kbps
EDGE Up to 560 kbps
3G HSDPA 14.4 Mbps, HSUPA 5.76 Mbps
WLAN Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot
Bluetooth Yes, v3.0 with A2DP
Infrared port No
USB Yes, microUSB (MHL) v2.0

T-Mobile MyTouch 4G

GPRS Yes
EDGE Class 10, 236.8 kbps
3G HSDPA, 14.4 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps
WLAN Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot
Bluetooth Yes v2.1 with A2DP
Infrared port No
USB Yes, miniUSB v2.0

Exactly the same :)

I believe it's software. Which means a custom ROM or radio could fix it.

What good is half-broken wifi?

Apparently there seems to be some confusion that I created and am now going to fix. My post on the 5Ghz band wifi issue was not a question of if MT4G supports it; that is already fact, I want to find out if someone has a way to restore the support in not only the GB builds, but now also the ICS builds that share the same problem. Before anyone brings up wiki on this issue and starts a flame war, I have both bands running in my house and have even done wifi calling through the 5Ghz band, so don't bother quoting specs. Need further proof: URL pdf.eccn.com/pdfs/Datasheets/Broadcom/BCM4329.pdf Now that that is settled; I believe the issue has something to do with how the kernel is compiled with the bcm4329.ko module. There may be a switch or parameter not being set in the module's build files (written in c) before a build is initiated. The resulting .ko file seems different depending on which phone it's being used on. Obviously this is a senior developer/kernel jockey question and I lack the know how to do this myself, but it's an important anyway. Lastly, if someone could, please repost this problem in the developer's forum for MT4G since I have no authority to do so. Again, thank you to all those who responded and especially to those who can fix this. :(

Did you figure out how to use the 5 Ghz band. BCM4329 does support 5Ghz (http://www.techinsights.com/broadcom-chipsets-score-more/). Can anybody tell me how to enable 5Ghz band?
