Different sources are posting different specs. The listing on frequencycheck is much more vague for the model (SM-G965U does not specify which carrier/version [if different versions are different]).

Can we get this information directly from Samsung somehow?

It wasn't the only place I saw it. One site was showing the FCC filing with Band 71 on there. I'll have to dig up the link later as I'm heading out the door.

Here is some info I just received from Samsung support concerning the bands the s9 unlocked supports.

B1(2100), B2(1900), B3(1800), B4(AWS), B5(850), B7(2600), B8(900), B12(700), B13(700), B17(700), B18(800), B19(800), B20(800), B25(1900), B26(800), B28(700), B29(700), B30(2300), B66(AWS-3)
So it looks like no band 71 for T Mobile in the unlocked phone.

I asked Samsung support today, they confirmed that the unlocked SM-G965UZKAXAA will not have B71 support.

Granted, it's tier 1 support, but he did go over all the other bands.

Ugh..... Can we get more clarification? I am seeing tons of mixed info online. I just paid more to preorder the unlocked version so I wouldn't have to deal with Tmobile bloat....now it sounds like I will be missing more than just the bloat. Debating cancelling my preorder...

---------- Post added at 05:57 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:55 AM ----------

According to this detailed list, only the T-Mobile version of the phone supports 600mhz.

https://www.techwalls.com/samsung-galaxy-s9-sm-g960-g965-model-number-differences/

I hope this is not the case, but this list suggests it is.

This page has been updated. The unlocked version is now also listing band 71....so looks like good news!

What kind of bloat are you referring to, out of curiosity? I wonder if I've just grown used to it.

Coming from an S7, I disabled apps like Lookout, Caller ID, etc. - the only two that remain are T-Mobile and Visual Voicemail. I don't like that Facebook is built in as an untouchable system app, but other than that, it seems easy to handle the bloat.

The problem I have with this information is that at those levels of support they historically don't really know. Usually you can have 3 different conversations and get 3 different answers.

Can attest to this. I also contacted Samsung about this twice just to make sure and both times, two different people have said band 71 is supported by the unlocked US version. Might be out of luck until someone actually gets the phone and tests.

Decided to peruse the FCC docs for the Galaxy S9, located here: https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/repo...id=iZpmwirNeCdRpxZDqp7ksg==&fcc_id=A3LSMG960U

Specifically the "HAC Key Feature letter" doc, if I'm reading/understanding it correctly, both the SM-G960U and SM-G960U1 (unlocked model if they're following the same model number scheme as last year) will support Band 71 LTE.

I guess direct linking to the doc is not allowed, but you can open it from the link above.

    Lol... this picture?

Yup, that's it right down to all hex values, thanks for posting it. Would have posted the image directly if possible, but I do not deal with hosting sites.

This specific MetroPCS info was not covered on any forum I found.
