has anyone tried this recently? Does this work with Android 5.0
I did this a while back, and have been on t-mobile for about a year, but running the MI3 modem, with KitKat.

I loaded a port of Marshmallow (Android 6.0) in Jan, and it still worked, on t-mobile.

I am currently trying to figure out a way to load the MJ4 modem, then load a Lollipop based rom. So, yes, to answer your question, it does work.

Is there a way to rebuild the whole system? For some reason, I've had a lot of issues with csc and then with going back to Sprint. My csc never says Sprint no matter how many times I set it with idone tools or manually or by flashing a full Odin file. I also can't get 4g/lte even though I've flashed the newest update 7 times. My s5 gets lte fine so it is something wrong with this phone. Can everything be rebuilt? What is the downside to this? What information do I need to keep to put on the new system? I've heard it's really bad to mess with the efs and I know the phone can be repartitioned with the pit file. Please help. Thanks

Try going back into Hidden menu and make sure everything's put back.? to Sprint, check lte settings?
I'll try in a few. I've thought about doing that, but the instructions don't say it's needed. I'll give it a shot though. It'll fix my lte issue, then I'll need to find out what the hell happened to my csc.

Because of my csc issue, when I flash the md5 file, no Sprint apps get installed. I know this sounds great, but it is causing me to hunt for ways to install visual voicemail by other means.

UPDATE:
Went through test menu and set everything like the post says, but chose what I thought related to Sprint and lte. Lte works but could someone post what the defaults are starting with step 5 bullet 4? I just want to make sure mine is set properly. Thank you. I've been dealing with this for a long time and I really appreciate you getting me back.

UPDATE 2:
Here is an image of my version information. It looks correct, but I'm just posting it in case something is off. I'd really like to get my note 3 back to getting visual voicemail without all the hoops of installing after.

SIM unlock completely without Sprint

I just unlocked my n900p without Sprint even internationally unlocking my phone, I'm on baseband oc5, I used Galaxy tools and clicked uicc unlock and that was it. Just like that my phone's unlocked on lollipop. Just wanted to let people know.

Guys, I have ended my contract with Sprint after two years and my phone is internationally unlock and rooted (STEPS 1 - 4). I am having trouble with step 5. My phone is not showing my current prl (apparently I have none) and the PRL helper is not working. What should I do? Is there anyway I can initiate my prl (samsung galaxy note 3)

This is a great guide, just wanted to update this thread with my results. Needless to say I'm very pleased with my service!

Service works great on stock Lollipop OC5, with one little tiff: I thought I was having MMS issues because Emojis would send but Pictures wouldn't..turns out, with the Wifi ON the messages wouldn't send. Turn it off, and several seconds later I'd see the sent confirmation. Bizarre, but looking into it looks like it's an issue with the ROM.
Have been able to upgrade to 5.1.1 (using Resurrection Remix) and the baseband stuck, remembered the settings and was connected on the first bootup. Marshmallow.. I couldn't figure it out, just kept boot looping at "Kernel not seandroid". Not too interested in pursuing it, honestly.

Using AryaMod ROM right now, and so far I think it's my favorite. Technically it's meant for 9005 but coming from a clean Sprint OC5 flash I've had no issues. In fact, I've gotten access to LTE for the first time on this Rom - tested the speeds and turns out it was around 8 mbps down, very exciting to see that!

It looks like people have moved on from the Note 3 and this thread, but I wanted to update people with my recent experience as this has opened up a whole world to me. If anyone is thinking about doing this, I say go for it.

are you on OC5 baseband? i just uicc unlocked my note 3 on 4.4.4, then upgraded threw odin to OC5, im wondering if the OC5 modem will work with att/t-mobile/ or any other gsm carrier sim? I am about to domestically unlock it threw the OP steps, is it necessary to downgrade to mi3 modem ?

I didn't actually try to make it work on OC5, but I'm not sure if it'll work. I think it's necessary to have the Jellybean basebands to make the sim work. When I flashed the OC5 it actually carried the baseband over, including all my settings adjusted in the Hidden Menus. I'm not sure you can get to those menus on OC5, on the rom I'm currently using the Hidden Menus don't pop up anymore.

alright, so i guess you do need the mi3 modem, i got it installed now on OC5, as for the hidden menus i believe galaxy tools lets me bring them up.

Yeah MI3 and the slightly newer MJ4, which is the one I'm using. In my comparisons between the 2 I feel that MJ4 is a little better.
It appears it's hard to find anywhere, so I'll send you the link to the file I flashed.

And I've gotta check out Galaxy tools, I'd like to look through those menus again.

Edit: I've looked into the menus more, as I wanted to see if there was anything else I could edit and it's just nice to know I can. Galaxy Tools is a cool app, but didn't open the menu also. I was about to give up but tried some dialer code procedures on a whim, sure enough it works! Figure I'd put this out in case someone has the issue.

Dial *#0011#
Should take you Service Mode, and then using the Menu options do exactly:
Hit Back three times (menu, back, menu, back...)
Key input: 1
Key input: Q (uppercase)
Key input: 0000

Takes about 10-15 seconds, but then it opens up the full Service Mode exactly as needed in the guide.
