Update: old petition removed, new more formal one placed, please resign Although i will keep all old signatures and send in with this one

Voice your concerns there.

I am going to push this for a week then print and mail off what's there.

Please keep the language clean. And please get others involved

ROUGH TOTAL OF UPSET CASH IN MOTOROLAS POCKET...$137,600 and climbing

To those bashing this idea:
Why, because this is seen as a wasted attempt. That it will change nothing, that noone will see it, that concerned customers will not be heard...You may very well be right.

But also what does it accomplish to sit and do nothing, the same thing right. But This as a better chance of provoking a change more so than accepting what you are given.

I have never spoken out, I have always hid in the corner and waited, but this upsets me dearly. While most love the xoom for what it is, as do I, the point is well beyond that. and even if only the secretary sees this petition...somone heard our crys. Chances are she will talk about it at the water fountain, then again she may not, but I AT LEAST TRIED.

So please dont insult the over one hundred people so far with remarks such as these, because there are plenty of people out there wanting answers, and wanting to be heard.

I ask the people to please stop bashing the thread, please leave your comments on the petition like I said, good or bad.

Again for those that signed, thank you
Do these ever produce anything besides income for lawyers?

Up to you of course but below 5000 signers it is pretty much a statistical anomaly. If I were Motorola I would not even bother responding to a petition with a few hundred names. It sets a bad precedent to respond to that small a number. Far better for Motorola to ignore it and feed info through the forums.

Far better (in my opinion) to let it run longer and try and get more signatures. Everything in due course.

And I agree but between xda xoomforums and the Motorola support forum this has over 6000 views and barely a hundred signatures. People have given up and started to accept this kinda treatment unfortunately.

So I want at least the people that truely care to be heard. I expected a bigger turn out but it is what it is.

Why do you assume people have given up?

Is it because your petition is a failure and in your mind it is the only reasonable explanation?

I didn't sign the petition because the text read like some fifth graders take on what a communist manifest of grievances against Moto should be. If it had been written well and in a manner that would not lead one to believe that the author was off his rocker, then I would have signed it.

I agree.

I agree with what you are trying to accomplish with the petition, however the grammar and "flow" of things just doesn't work. I would suggestion re-doing it. Sometimes it takes two or three (or more) tries at it to get it right. Have someone else read it, and make changes before posting it for the world to see. I know, I sound like an English teacher, and for that I apologize.

I'm a grammar stickler, always have been.

There also needs to be a period at the end of your first paragraph, after features. That stuck in my head more than the content of the petition.

This petition should be a letter written by a copywriter with PR/press release experience.

It should be re-framed as a simple request for transparency on the subject of LTE and sdcard upgrades.

That's how the bootloader issue got handled (which lead to Motorola requesting public feedback and eventually changing their policy.)

Anything less than professional level communication will be ignored.

Give it a rest. "It should be grammatically correct, should have a copywriter..." yada yada.

It's easy to criticize, but I don't see anybody standing up and volunteering for the job. (Rant: That's the problem with society today, everybody's a critic, but nobody wants the responsibility.)

So the OP isn't the most versed wordsmith. Let him do what he wants to do. Activism is a learning process. Nobody hits a home run in his first at-bat.

This should be done by a professional precisely because the OP is not able to communicate the intent in a way that will resonate with the intended audience, and is arguably too emotionally involved to come across as professional.

His intent is laudable, but the method does deserve criticism.

Perhaps the OP should start a PayPal collection for a copywriter?

I'd donate.

Part of taking lead on something is to know when to delegate.

Have you even read the new one?

Listen for all those that NON STOP criticize my efforts. This is gone in a week. I NEVER CLAIMED to be a writer, a lawyer, a..well anything. NO ONE else was doing anything.

Why don't you go with it then ZANSHING1....get your copywriter.

But please please stop knocking it when i at least tried.

Some members of this forum make people feel totally unwelcome and ignorant. In the world of reality not everyone is a typist, or literary scholar or a super tech. THAT DOES NOT MEAN THEY DON'T HAVE DEGREES right. but it is unacceptable to beat someone for trying, NOT once helping just constantly bashing.

Like the OP states if your going to do that then don't come in here. your taking away from the context and point of the thread and to be honest it and you are not welcome.
