Dude, when someone criticizes what you create, it's not a personal attack.

Personal attacks are: insults, name-calling. Attacks on a person, directly.

As far as I know, nobody in this thread has called you any names or insulted you. So, well, that's entirely in your head.

If you know you're not a good writer, why would it bother you when someone points out problems with your writing?

A wise man knows when he's not qualified to accomplish something and either tries to learn from criticism or asks for help from an expert.

As to your suggestion for me to hire a copywriter, the sdcard update is rolling out soon as is the LTE modem upgrade.

Motorola really needs to work on transparency, but this particular issue is moot.

I did ask for help and got it from several sources.....what you are reading is a collaboration. But thanx anyways

...Like the OP states if your going to do that then don't come in here. your taking away from the context and point of the thread and to be honest it and you are not welcome.
Let me fix that for you:

Like the OP states, if you're going to do that then don't come in here. You're taking away from the context and point of the thread. To be honest, it and you are not welcome.
Haha, sorry, couldn't resist...:p

What I PMed you was much more professional than your "collaboration", and that was just of the top of my head. You basically hacked it up to inject your drama into it, and you obviously didn't have anyone proof it.
I told you it wouldn't be taken seriously if it wasn't written in a professional manor, and the fact that people are apprehensive about signing it proves that. We all tried to help you, but you let your emotions govern your sensibilities.

No I just didn't INJECT anything from you...I INJECTED content from others. Point is I did seek help. And just because I didn't want what ever you gave me does not give you the go ahead to say that....

For the record, I have Asperger's syndrome. I tend to put the merit of an argument over people's feelings about the subject.

If I have, in fact, offended anyone, I apologize.

The OP may believe this or not: I didn't attack "his" thread because I hold a grudge against him for something prior, I criticized what I saw as an error. I do that with practically any data presented to me: I analyze it to the best of my ability and draw a conclusion.

It was something I had some investment in so I may have inadvertently defended my position beyond what was factual.

In my opinion, based on some not insignificant experience, the petition was not going to be effective. That's all I was trying to say.

I acknowledge the chutzpah it takes for csseale to have taken on the significant burden of carrying the flag for this crusade.

I didn't mean to besmirch his contribution.

Thanks, and I do hope that the Xoom lives up to its promise.

When you have a bunch of geeks in one place, with most probably not having the best social skills hahah, it's easy to step on each other's toes.

I'm not sure what kind of syndrome I have. I think it's called the Foot-in-Mouth Syndrome. It's chronic. I can't help it, I always shoot off my mouth before my brain engages. My doc said there's no cure. I tried getting help from Assholes Anonymous, but they kicked me out for being over-qualified. I need help bad.

Ok, I have also signed.

I am a non-USA purchaser of the USA version because this product is not available where I live - I specifically avoided the 3G/4G version, because I knew that it would be difficult for me to send the Xoom back for modification.

I assumed that Motorola's good name would stand me in good stead, however it now appears that it would have been better had I waited and bought an Asus EEE Transformer, which can do more and is also cheaper.

IMHO Motorola blew this product by poor marketing and poor completion.

It seems that Asus is now the leading Android tablet and they will not give this lead up easily.

Right.

I DARE you to post my PM here.
You are extremely rude. You have also tried to start drama from one of my posted threads. Do you enjoy being rude to others? Does that make you happy?

Here is your response to a thread I started which has no problems.. you are the only person to post something that has nothing to do with the thread, trying to be a jerk. Here is the OP:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1132793And here is your attitude that no one else agreed with:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14927914&postcount=11

You are a superstar dude!

I hope you are not like that in real life. I would hate to see someone make a mistake in their grammar or worse, say something that is not on topic to what you want to hear. Wow.

Yeah, I wanna be you, big guy.
I can't find the pm I sent to you, which you requested, btw. I have nothing in my sent items box, which is a shame because it would show everyone how much of my input you actually did use, only out of context and contorted so it reads like, well, like you took a professionally worded piece and rewrote it. I'm pretty sure it wasn't deleted from your in box until you read my last post.;)
Big business doesn't give a crap about anyone in your (our) shoes. Coming off like the "president you can have a beer with" simply doesn't work. Several of us tried to explain that, but you wouldn't listen. Did you want to represent all of us, or did you just want us to back your personal travesty up with a list?
It's a great thing you're doing, but when people who have professional policy writing experience tell you it won't be taken seriously unless it's composed a certain way, you need to listen. You wouldn't listen, and now even people that would've signed it have said as much.
Yes, I did say it was much better, and it is, without a doubt. But nobody proofed it, and it reads like a Chris Farley character showing up at a board meeting with market reps late with papers hanging out of his briefcase, his shirt hanging out and ketchup on his jacket. Still the same great employee? Sure, but first impressions are everything and he better impress to overcome it. Do you have enough signatures to impress?
If you don't get it, then go ahead and keep acting fourteen, but don't think you're doing it at my expense, brother.:)

Kieth, I dunno how any of this pertains to you, but since you've invited your senseless unrelated conjecture into this discussion, I'll tell you that I stand behind my reaction to your posting of hearsay without caring the least bit enough to do any research on it first. Yours is not the only post/thread started from online gossip on these forums that has prompted me to question why on Earth someone wouldn't at least make an attempt to verify the validity of first. Threads that contain unfounded "news" or "facts" usually end up also eventually containing a mess of flaming argument.
-I find it difficult to believe you don't already know that.

If you care more about what you're doing with this petition than being the "supastar", then you'll ask a mod to clean up this thread and lock it, since it's linked to other Xoom forums full of potential signatures.

Ummmm...yea OK

I am done with these trival and obviously ignorant and unjustified arguments with you and well anyone of the others that have derailed this thread...you are an awesome contribution to the community...
Thank you..because if one thing was proven with this thread ( and others) is that some people have no respect and feel justified to puke up whatever crap they feel they need to just to get a rise.

May have been my writing...or may have been the CONSTANT attacks that turned people away. but we may never know. But regardless the damage is done. Its plainly obvious you and 'THE OTHERS' that made your claims have succeeded so i congratulate THOSE people. This thread became no more than a fist fight that noone wants to watch. Thus regardless of your attention have turned people away.

Oh well i tried have a good one..peace

Everyone relax. It is just the internet. No need to get your knickers in a twist. I tend to agree the petition could be written better, but it is not awful. I also tend to agree the petition will not influence Motorola, but it does not hurt to try. After all I doubt Motorola would align themselves with unlocked devices if the public had not made their position heard.

Psychokitty, I would prefer not to pick on you but I will remind you that there are rules about language and flaming. You have been fine in this thread outside of a little language but your combative attitude tends to bring out the flame wars. I actually agree with much of what you have to say on this thread but feel it could be done in a more constructive manner.

Cheers

Based on crazykitty's responses, it should have been banned by now based on the rules of the site but has not happened yet. I am carefully watching and recording each episode for review.

csseale, and I say this with due respect. Thank you for this thread and do not give up. Your optimism towards effecting change is a refreshing viewpoint versus old farts like me who feel our voice is not heard.

Cheers
