I said enough is enough. Rooted and unlocked. Deleted SDM. It looks like its forcing the download of OTA but lets you defer it. Will deleting SDM really work to stop the update?

How do I go about uninstalling SDM 1.0?
Edit. Now I'm getting the update screen every 2 minutes. REALLY VERIZON?!?!?!

Anyways I see it was answered but root your phone and use titanium backup to find sdm1.0 I recommend to back it up first then un install it. You'll never see the update message again.

Anyways I see it was answered but root your phone and use titanium backup to find sdm1.0 I recommend to back it up first then un install it. You'll never see the update message again.

I forgot to make a backup with titanium before deleting. Oops. But I made a backup of everything in twrp so I could always get it back that way.

Heck yeah I got the Note 2. There's honestly not a phone I'd trade this one for. All the phone trades I used to do I was always looking for the phone to hold me over and this phone has done more than that. I think I'm good until the Note 3 comes out or better yet a 5.5"-6" Nexus phone.

hey bros just askin will this update already exist if i buy a samsung galaxys note 2
If you buy a new one, DON'T let the guy in the VZ store activate it as they will update it right there.
Do what I did and take it home in the box and activate it yourself, then deny the update so you can unlock it.
Ok, I got the update message this morning. I deferred it for the max, 5 days. Is there a way to stop this before the 5th day? What do I do now?
I have been rooted and unlocked for a while. I just deleted SDM 1.0 from Titanium. Will that work?

So I just got my Note 2 on Friday and the sales guy installed the update right in front of me..
My question, I have 2 weeks to return it.. Should I wait and see, or should I make up some excuse (locks up, or reboots in its own) and try to get it exchanged for another one and make sure they do not do the update?
I am afraid if I wait till the end of my 2 weeks then all the ones they have will already have the update installed.. But I will not be happy with a Note 2 and no way to install custom roms or even have root access...
CRAP, I cannot even get that awesome light saber sounds when I remove the pen because it requires ROOT access...

I'd return it. You don't need to make up an excuse to return it within the return period. Get another one and say DONT DO THE UPDATE or i'll return this one as well.
