Hey brother, I have the phone and have been using it for some months now. It does limit the background apps, but contrary to Xiaomi and other chinese brands, it's really easy to stop the phone from doing so. There's a configuration on the device's settings called Performance Optimization that you can use to limit or unlimit app background activity. You also have the option to completely deactivate the feature and let the apps run on the background at will.
