That sounds weird. However, I don't allow PDP any internet access. One possibilty is, do deactivate wifi and mobile data before opening PDP to change sth. and to activate again after closing PDP. So it can't "phone home" to look if there is an update.Strange thing: I was messing about with my phone a couple of hours ago and without me doing anything, PDP downloaded an update for itself and tried to install it. The install failed because it was blocked for some reason. It kind of spooked me and I didn't read the message fully.
Anyway, I looked in my downloads folder and there was another .apk file sitting there, dated today.
Has this happened to anyone else? It looks very much like they tried to push the update, but maybe I just hit the wrong buttons with my fat fingers and caused this myself. I have no idea how though - I wasn't running PDP at the time, so I don't know how I could have invoked this.
As a second line of defense I use an additional firewall:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.greyshirts.firewall.beta
Not only for PDP, but just for this and other apps and packages to completely deny any internet access. A lot of them seem to be very curious and commuicative and so it seems best to stop it.
