What packages do I disable to avoid all of Samsung's updates?
Its been aksed and answered numerous times, this is when you use the search button.

I will add however that the different device variants have slightly different apks which need disabled so factor that into your search to be more precise.

Stupid question from someone who knows enough to be dangerous: I see where Note 5 owners who run Note 7 roms are receiving Note 7 notices. Could the update theoretically be fooled and put off if someone did the reverse and installed a Note 5 rom on the Note 7?

Take it easy on me if this is a stupid theory. I'm good with electronics, but haven't programmed anything since the 80's (I used to literary step inside the "machine" to change the tape reels).

It happens on the note 4 also with note 7 ports.

Im not sure what would happen if we reversed it but someone with a exynos model should change there build prop to a note 5 ID and see what happens.

If we could do that on our snapdragon devices I would have already tried it!

I've changed over to the S7 Edge, but haven't returned my Note. It's been shut off and hasn't received the Samsung update yet. If something like this would work, I'd be interested in knowing. Even a Note 4 would be more useful than other devices.

Lol....dude.

You have exynos...just root. You cant get OTAs when rooted.

Even better flash a custom rom which would likely have all the ota apps deleted anyway.

You have so easy with a rootable device why would you even bother with a package disabler is beyond me?

The developer changed the activating procedure, so if you purchased version 7 you cannot activate 6.3 anymore. Some other people reported that they were blackmailed by sammy to cripple their own app otherwise sammy would enforce google to kick them off from play store...
I used Package Disabler Pro very early on (October) to disable Samsung OTA's. I bought version 6.3, disabled auto-update, and I hadn't opened up the app in months. Just now, I accidentally launched the app and now it says that license activation has failed.

My question is, will the packages that I have already disabled stay disabled?

Some reports say that they stay, but not not sure if this works permanently.
If you want to check, use debloater so see, if they are hidden (blocked from working). Even if debloater wouldn't work for you for changing anything, you can see, what is blocked and what is not.

To be safe, just pm me, we have an app that effectively block all relevant update packages and can't be stopped working this way.

I sideloaded Package Disabler Pro v6.3 months ago. No updates ever reached my phone and I still charge to 100%. When I look up Package Disabler Pro in the Play Store, it knows I have it installed but there is no way for it to update (not that I want it to, I was just checking to see). My question is this: since I didn't download it from the play store which doesn't have the ability to update it in any way, am I safe? Or can the devs somehow tweak my license and reactivate my disabled packages?

License can be checked while opening it, and so they can void purchased license for older versions than 7.
Didn't hear that invalidated license would activate the disabled packages so far, but who knwos for the future...

You can protect your pdp from this by:

1. Disable wifi and mobile data before opening pdp, app tries to get internet connection, but fails, after that runs in normal condition, after closing pdp you can enable your wifi / data again

or

2. Block internet connection for pdp with firewall, for example this one from grey shirts. It's also useful to block other criuous stuff.

How do we get the link or app that ultimately disables the firmware update notification

There were reports that the Ultimate Tool was updated too and no longer will work as needed.

But S Package disabler still works, does not update itself in any way, and didn't bring unwanted effects so far.
As of today the license for S Package disabler will no longer activate . If you delete it and reinstall you can not activate the
license. The new Samsung update (security) made it go south and new install will not activate , said license terminated .
