for some reason this did not work for me.. phone is stuck on the Verizon load screen.. I was selecting packages then the phone just automatically restarted.. and now stuck... guess I will go back to my note 3 and wait for the note 8.
use the verizon software update assistant. it'll erase everything, but your phone will good.

Note 7 already updated

Both my Note 7s started this update last night. I only got to one before the update automatically installed itself. I'm now stuck with the 60% battery cap on one of them.

Is there any way to kill the service causing the battery cap and annoying pop up with Package Disabler Pro? On my other phone I had to do the "manually disable" and put in the information from this post, and that managed to keep that one from updating. So I was wondering if there is a way to target whatever service is limiting the battery capacity and causing the pop-up?

I'd prefer not to have to root or do a ROM.

It's not a service - it's a firmware update, so you're stuck with it now unless you load an alternative rom. And of course to do that, you'll trip knox and lose your secure folder.

New here & don't see PDP in any of the the threads

Can someone send me PDP? I'm trying to prevent my phone from updating. I've used ODIN, but as soon as I power on it tries to re-download the update.

Quick question, would it not be better at this point to just uninstall those packages with su permissions? There isn't any way that they could be remotely re-enabled, could they?
If your rooted you cant get OTA anway and most custom roms have them removed.

Not all of us can root though

sent from my Note 7 or S6

It's a rooted W8 snapdragon with an official rom, but it still shows a custom icon at boot.

Nonetheless it seems to me that some people running off the Sprint userdebug rom which the snapdragon root is based off of, have received an OTA (although it's not very clear in the various threads about which people are wanting root after the OTA or had the OTA with root)...So I was a little nervous. I only just rooted my phone yesterday after realizing there will never be any updates or support...might as well dive in.

thanks peeps i think its the fact that i already have the update waiting on the phone before i disable the services

I redid the ODIN and then hurried up disabling all the services and for now its all good and hope it stays that way

thanks again y'all

You are missing the second last on my list here that is VITAL to disable...although I have heard of some Note7 users not having this package. And I suppose that not having it is better than having it and disabling it...

Did you have the update downloaded before you disabled the packages?

Ive never seen a rooted device be able to install an OTA. Guess thats not impossible though.

It more people wanting root after the OTA i think...which is laughable since everyone should know by now that its not possible at this time on snapdragon devices
