Some questions

I am interested in pre-ordering this device? Any quick comments? How is the touchscreen and the battery life? Can you turn off the gestures (as they look annoying to me).

Thanks

Jerome

Hello.
What about photo quality? Can you upload some photos? If it is similar or same as dg350(have same specs), it is useless.

I post on Youtube review after two weeks usage (use internal youtube function - autotranslated titles please!):
Samples of video recording (main camera)

I thought the photo quality will be worse. But photos and videos to get a normal 5MP. (Perhaps interpolated. I could not understand)

Baidu root worked for me too. Root persist after reboot, but always asks in chinese: left button with counter is for deny, right button is for accept.

TUTORIAL: How to flash AOSP-V3 on Doogee DG310 (or most ROMS) using SPFlash Tool

I created this tutorial because I felt that newcomers (a/k/a newbies, noobs, etc) didn't really know how to flash a ROM: I was one of you! Although AOSP-V3 is my ROM of choice for my Doogee, the same process below applies to flashing most other ROMS on needrom (especially if they specifically say to use SPFlash, SP Flash Tool).

WHY INSTALL AOSP-V3 ON YOUR DG310

    Here are some reasons:
    • It's Lollipop
    • It means your phone will be rooted (and you can install Xposed, AdAway, and other apps and fixes)
    • It comes with CWM Recovery preinstalled
    • It has a very clean interface, without bloatware, and it's fast!
    • It's not hard to do

HOW DO I FLASH THE ROM?

Read everything here (including the info in the links below) first, and make sure you understand the process in your head *before* doing anything. If you follow the instructions carefully, it'll be easy. The standard disclaimer of "we're not responsible if something happens" applies, but that said the community here is to help you if something goes wrong.

Do any backups, because you'll lose everything when you flash a new ROM!

    The process is basically:
    • You enable USB debugging on your phone.
    • You install the Android drivers on your PC.
    • You run a program (below) on your PC, select the files you'll be flashing, run the program and then connect your phone to your PC via USB.
    • You will install some fixes via your phone's recovery "install zip" menu.
    • Reboot and enjoy!

    FILES YOU'LL NEED

    From your computer:

    * Download and install Android drivers on your computer: I used the 15 seconds ADB Installer you can find on XDA (run as Admin): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979

    * Create a folder (for example on your desktop) and put everything in there:
You will need to unzip the SPFlash Tools and the first two needrom files in their own separate folders on your computer.
(The "update" will be flashed via recovery, so you'll need to put that on your SD Card as it is and install the zip file via recovery after you've installed the ROM.)
N.B. Most other ROMs that you'll be flashing with SP Flash Tool most likely will have just one ROM file, like the "base" one here. The other files are updates specifically for AOSP-V3. I emailed /u/brutal4028 (http://www.needrom.com/author/brutal4028/) who compiled the ROM, and hopefully the next version won't need all these extra steps.

Read this tutorial: http://androidxda.com/flash-stock-rom-using-smart-phone-flash-tool Note that there are drivers you'll need to download and install, you'll find them in that webpage. I used the 15 seconds ADB Installer (see above).

Now reread the tutorial and make sure you understand it step by step! Then proceed...
Note: You will have to enable usb debugging on your phone before you begin. Also, I did not remove the battery as it's suggested here and it worked fine.

    LET'S DO IT!

Wait...! REREAD EVERYTHING! Did you understand *everything* that you'll be doing? If so continue, proceeding step by step... It's easy and relatively safe, but it's also easy to screw up if you don't follow the instructions (I learned the hard way!).

You'll be using the scatterfile from the unzipped AOSP-V3.0 FT BASE directory, and the file is "MT6582_Android_scatter". Remember to start the process in SPFlashTool first and then plug in your phone. The process should initiate after a few seconds, soon after the phone has been detected by your computer. Wait for a while. When you see the green checkmark, close SPFlash, unplug your phone - don't unplug it before it's finished!

Because you'll be flashing the "reboot fix" next, you'll be doing exactly the same process as above, this time using the scatterfile in the "reboot fix" folder - reopen SPFlash, select the scatterfile, press the DOWNLOAD button, plug in your phone.

When you're done flashing, and when you reboot, you may have to wait up to 10 minutes before seeing the setup screen.

HOW TO APPLY UPDATE VIA RECOVERY (INSTALL ZIP)

Your phone is ready, but you should install the UPDATE to apply some fixes (see description on needrom). At this point you should have your update file on your external SDCard.
You install the update via your recovery (power down your phone > press POWER and VOL-UP buttons at the same time for a couple of seconds). (FYI, There is a very small app from the Google Store that will allow you to reboot to recovery from your phone directly without bothering with your hardware buttons: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=simple.reboot.com&hl=en)

From the recovery menu choose INSTALL ZIP and direct it to the zip file on your external SDcard. The process will take maybe a minute, and then you can reboot. Again, you may have to wait a long time for your phone to finish booting because it may need to optimize various files. I'd suggest doing the update before having too many apps on your phone (do it as soon as possible) so you there are not too many apps to process and you can start enjoying your shiny new ROM!

BONUS: HOW TO INSTALL "MMC reformat 4×2 Lollipop"

Optionally, you may also want to increase the amount of the internal storage especially if you have an external SDCard where you put your apps. brutal4028 wrote me that he will include this in AOSP-V4, but if you want it now go to the "MMC reformat 4×2 Lollipop" page on needrom: http://www.needrom.com/download/mmc-reformat-4x2-lollipop/

    • Copy the "cnreformat4-5" zip file from the link above to your external SDCard.
    • Boot to recovery
    • Make a backup of your stuff via recovery!!
    • Install the zip file
    • When the script has finished and you're back in the main screen, go to POWER OPTIONS > REBOOT RECOVERY
    • The script has now automatically created a new zip file on your SDCard named "format.zip". Install that zip file as above.
    • As a precaution, reboot to recovery (as above) after the process, and restore the backup you created above, and REBOOT normally.
    • Enjoy your free space!
Put the zip file on your external SDcard and install it

WAS THIS USEFUL? IS SOMETHING MISSING? STILL NEED HELP?

If you have any comments, just let me or other users know.

Remember to Thank me by clicking the THANK button next to my name!

We all spend money buying apps on Google Play Store. If you like the ROM, shouldn't you also thank who made it possible (brutal4028) by donating a couple of euros at least? Isn't AOSP-V3 worth a little more than that SHI++Y game you paid €2 for that you used just a couple of times? Go to http://www.needrom.com/download/aosp-v3/ and follow the DONATE link!
