twrp not working

Hello guys,

I was successful in first task - unlock bootloader - everything looked OK.

In second task, twrp not working.

I installed TWRP-32x by linux mint using adb & fastboot from android studio.
I did all 13 steps from list with success. Step 14 i tried remove battery from phone. (i tried ./fastboot reboot too - same result)

If i hold volume up & power btn, i see 3 options (fast, normal, recovery). If i chose recovery, phone boot up in normal mode.
I have never seen twrp menu.

I have same problem like others - viruses in phone !

I will be grateful for any response. THX

Grey flashing screen instead of TWRP

Hi guys, maybe someone could help me with my problem?

I did everything as told, flashed TWRP via both SP Flash Tool or Mini ADB & Fastboot, and it uploads it to the recovery partition correctly (so it says). But then, instead of loading TWRP, I get only flashing shades of grey (just two of them, not fifty, :D). Any ideas what to try?

Thanks a lot!

I bricked mine. All u need to do is flash the factory image with sp tools.
Here it is
https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0Bziqh7RXsn-DRTI3Q05zODA5eFU&export=download

Start again and try a different twrp until u get it.

After trying many different methods to flash recovery, my fiancee found a great method to flash it all at once. Easy and clean. You only need to download the original stock firmware.

After this you unzip the content of stock firmware on a new folder and you only need to replace the default recovery.img with the uncompressed file from Needrom web site named ´TWRP x32 + SuperSu´ which data is ´06/20/2017 12:30 am´. (I´m new and I´m not allowed yet to post url address. Sorry!)

Before flashing make sure you have unlocked your bootloader with Minimal ADB and Fastboot tool with the command ´fastboot oem unlock´. You will do this making your phone enter in fasboot mode. You can enter through bootloader of your phone.

Now you use SP_Flash_Tool_Win_v5.1628 (you will find this in the first post of this thread) to flash all at once your phone through usb to pc. Remember to use the same scatter file txt from the original stock firmware, not from twrp zip file. This is important.

Tell me if it worked for you as good as it worked for me!

Fastboot not working

I have been trying to unlock my bootloader on doogee x5 max pro with fastboot but it seems it's not seeing my phone.
What did I do?
I set up fastboot and adb on my windows10. Adb was able to boot it into fastboot mode but once in fastboot mode, nothing happens. I try the bootloader unlock command and it just says "waiting for any device".
I've tried installing every driver related to this phone and android, but same thing keeps happening. I've installed vcom driver for windows 10. It still didn't work. I installed universal android Adb driver. Fastboot still didn't work.
Why is adb able to detect my phone, but fastboot can't detect it. What am I doing wrong? I need help.

used adb on linux to get this working

Hi

I had a lot of trouble with various TWRP images before I found one that worked with this phone.

The one I found that worked was twrp-3-0-2-material-2 which I got from the needrom site - NB this was October 2016, quite a while ago.

I also found that I had to format the data partition in order to be able to flash a ROM to it.

Not sure if that will help anyone.

I'm about to reload a stock ROM on it - and then get rid of the beautysnap malware - as it looks as though the rooted ROM I put on it has the android.triada.231 malware in libandroid_runtime.so

I've - possibly naively - tried replacing just that one file using adb from a stock ROM image, but that prevents the phone from booting all the way, and although I could get into the OS using adb, I could not agree to run "su" as I could not click the permissions to agree to it.

At that point I booted into TWRP again, and removed the replacement libandroid_runtime.so, and renamed the original, infected one back.

Hi!,

Why all so complicate? I am searching for a simple way to root.
For my old Doogee X5, I discovered just

update-ROOT-DOOGEE_X5.zip

Copy the zip to the micro-SD-card
Settings -> Phone info -> Update -> menu "update local" -> choose zip from micro-SD-card.
Start update.
That's all!

Now I search for such a simple solution for my new Doogee X5 MAX pro.
I do not want any methods with "volume down power", because my X5 MAX pro has the menus after "Volume down power" start in Chinese language.
Did you find any? If you did, please update me about it. Coz I don't want to deal with such complicated process.

After these steps:
Power on the phone and skip through all of the setup options
Go to Settings -> About device
Tap Build number five times to enable Developer options
Go to Settings -> Developer options
Enable OEM unlocking
Enable USB debugging
Plug the phone in to your PC and authorize it
Open a Command Prompt
Type adb reboot-bootloader
The phone should reboot and in a very tiny font at the bottom you should see => FASTBOOT mode
Type fastboot devices to verify that your PC sees it correctly
Type fastboot oem unlock
Press Volume Up to say Yes and wait for this to finish
Type fastboot getvar all and look for (bootloader) unlocked: yes
Type fastboot reboot
You should see your phone reboot a couple times as it erases the phone

My phone is now endless rebooting its self. Thank you for fcking up my phone.

I have solution!

No instructions here worked for me. I was unable to install TWRP.

This is small workaround but IT WORKS!

1) Unlock bootloader as described.
2) Download TWRP.
3) DON'T install TWRP as described.
4) Reboot to fastboot
5) Use fastboot boot recovery.img command - this is onetime boot into TWRP
6) It works! TWRP started.
7) Flash super-su as described.
8) ROOT SUCCESSFULL!

X5 Max pro flash woes

Can anyone help me root my x5 max pro. I have tried all major non pc app. Plus tried installing with sp flash and fastboot. In the cases of doing it by pc .Followed all steps in this post! After success message that twerp is installed with either sp or fastboot .The phone will only boot into normal recovery. Seems to me despite the success message the bootloader is not really unlocked!
tried different usb cables and different twerp and sp flash tolls ,Same non success!
Strangely phone id app sees the phone as Mt 6735 not Mt 6737?

Stock Rom easy install

Having spent some 20 hours trying to fix my malware Doogee X5 max pro with no success; this thread was probably the most useful - except for the cryptic part using SuperSu - given this is supposed to help noobies!
Anyway I succeeded in installing the latest official firmware fromneedrom
using this guide on youtube:
How to Install Stock ROM on any Mediatek Device using SP Flash tool
Hoping their new firmware is malware free....

I know this is an old post but I want to thank all the contributors and especially the Original poster. Finally after many months on-and-off of trying to Root my DooGee X5 Max pro with the info from this thread and ONE important Tweak! I managed to Root my phone.

Using the two files posted by Neaw

and the instructions at the start of the thread.

Now I never had a problem unlocking the Bootloader. What stopped me was I could never get TWRP to install so here's the,"Trick" that worked for me.

With the software and drivers installed from the first post etc

Do the Boot unlock.

Take battery out and reconnect to PC.

Use the CMD commands in Windows to flash the recovery.img and you should see the data load and finish on the phone.

NOW is where I got it to work.

Put the Battery back in the phone but do NOT start the phone normally.Use the Volume up Key and the Power button to enter the phone and THEN use the volume up button to navigate to Recovery and the volume down button to select it if I remember correctly.

TWRP should load and now you are good to go installing Superuser and also be able to make Nandroid backups and load custom roms. This means I can use TWRP anytime now :)

HTH :)

Update!!!!!!!

I'm now running this great 32 bit Custom rom with no Malware and rock solid

https://www.getdroidtips.com/mokee-os-doogee-x5-max-pro/

32bi version.
