It's called "knock on" on the LG G2. Tap the screen twice without moving the phone and it unlocks. I'm certain this is the feature being requested on the moto x.

On most screens you can also double tap to lock/turn off the screen. I would love to have this feature.

Here's the nexus thread for the feature... anyone willing to try?

i try it but not working
it s not supported by Touch control
maybe the app dev make this work on Moto x too
on my nexus 4 this app works great and it doesnt consume the battery

I'd pledge $10 to a working version for the droid maxx. Double knock to turn display on. Off would be nice but not required

Double knock bounty!

(I'd obviously pledge more but I know like I know like I know the droid maxx kitkat bounty will be a success)

I don't get it? The x wakes the second you touch it...or talk loud even....and a quick swype and your in.

Anyway....dt2w will destroy the awesome battery life the x is capable of. ?

I hadn't considered the battery implications.

Just as a heads up. Some N5 kernels have this, and you can expect 1.5 to 2 percent per hour drain with it enabled, on top of regular usage drain.

I realize people like and want the feature...but just know battery life will suffer quite a bit.

But if that doesn't bother you...then hope it works out. Someone said exposed can do it???

To add....the G2 uses a low volt core for this, so no real battery drain...much like moto uses low voltage core for some of its stuff. The N5 Devs haven't found a way to use this feature on the low volt core, it has a pedometer on it. So I doubt it would ever be on the x's low volt core....therefore, bad battery drain.

Waving, tapping, nuding only wakes up the Moto X. People here want double tap to UNLOCK. Please stop suggesting something we already know but isn't what we want.
The title is "Double tap to WAKE on Moto X"... anyway, I misunderstood, sorry.

Double tap to unlock? That seems really insecure, anyone could unlock your phone? I'm not familiar with the feature so I might be misunderstanding. Also, thread title says "wake", not "unlock".

Not everyone cares about phone security. I often have no lock screen whatsoever. ;)
