Doubts about IMEI 0 problem

Hi everybody,

I have a stock Oreo Moto g5s plus and I want to try a pie custom rom. I know how to do that, but I have some doubts about the IMEI 0 problem. If I make a backup of stock rom, can I flash it in future in case of IMEI 0 and solve the problem?

Anyway, which partitions should I backup (instead of whole rom) to be safe in future? Efs and the persist ones? And can I do it only through recovery or adb is needed? Is there a guide in XDA?

I would suggest backing up everything for safety's sake. If needed you can restore only the parts needed such as efs, etc. If you come across a certain problem folks will recommend what to restore to fix it (whole ROM or just modem/efs, etc.). Can't go wrong having a full backup on hand.
