You might think i'm crazy, but i'm dependent on CoPilot Live for Android, a navigation app, and it doesn't work in 2.2.

So is there a way to go down to 2.1 again? (preferrably without rooting)

would it be possible to just take a "update.zip" from 2.1 and follow the same steps like i recovered to 2.2?

any input is appreciated :)

Does CoPilot not work at all, or is it just not available on the Market? If it's not available, you can find a phone that it works on and is rooted and do an "adb pull" of the application file, then place the file on your phone's SD card and install with a task manager.

AFAIK using a PASSIMG should do the trick, you'll have to go through the upgrade process too to get to 2.1.

See. That's what I was thinking. I thought the signed image would just flash all contents, regardless of the version. . .that's how we gained root on G1s (flashed down to rc29). Pretty sure it related the radio too.

We don't have an NBH file like the RC29 file was. Until you unlock the bootloader, you can only flash the phone using the stock recovery, and it has to be a signed update zip, and it won't let you go backwards.

I have the same concern too with 2.2 and CoPilot. The CoPilot guys said they are currently working on a fix, so I would just wait a bit longer.

If you need GPS right away, then in the meantime just use the Google Maps Navigation or Brut.all's latest version of the hack that works for non-US and non-UK countries.. works fine in Canada for me.

So there's no way to go back to 2.1 at all? Cause that's definitely something I want to do. My battery life (since having 2.2) is HORRENDOUS. Absolutely terrible. I can't deal with it right now.

For everyone's information, the latest version of copilot also does not work with CM5.0.7 on Dream, however an older version, 8.0.0.606 *does work*. In case the same glitch is hitting them both, you might consider trying the older version with 2.2.

Also, please post the "logcat" for when it crashes.
