Maybe I missed this and didn't read well, but there is no way to dirty flash a beta over the old one without a full wipe? I'm not getting OTA since I'm rooted with TWRP. If you flash a default boot.img and recovery.img will it then take the OTA and update it?

Thx

I always use Deuce's tool. Extract all the files and run his bat file. Just select N at the end so it doesn't wipe data. That way I know both partitions are updated to the latest images and I keep all my data.

Also, you will need to reflash TWRP and Magisk afterwards

Yeah, so read another thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-2-xl/how-to/guide-how-to-install-google-software-t3760535

Just remove the -w from the script, I usually use Deuce though, have issue with flash all many times.

Will give it a go, and just select N on the Userdata...

EDIT: Well that's a first, used the flash-all and removed the -w and it ran fine. Miracle..has never worked, always used Deuce in the past. Whatever it takes I guess.

I know the rest of the routine for twrp and rooting. Just make sure your move pin/fingerprint...or else TWRP won't work/decrypt.

Thanks!

Well, to add. Did a dirty update. All works well, but having issues again with Magisk and failing Safetynet. I'm getting the "csProfile: false" error on the test.

Had both failures before on DP3, and the Play store services, clearing all data worked with that after a reboot. Not this trick now though. Guess others are having this as well in the other Beta thread and Substratum in this section.

Not sure on that...mine is failing as well but I typically use Flash's kernel but v2.47 failed on mine and caused issues so I'm not using a custom kernel until he updates his.

Yeah, the other Beta Android thread with Substratum people are posting the same. Wait for flash kernel and maybe that works. So just now, google pay doesn't work. But phone is rooted...price we pay for Beta!

Sai's Black Substratum on the 997 beta still working, just don't use Nav UI, other stuff works though, System/UI/QS etc..

Yeah, I've already got Swift Dark and Sai's theme setup and running!

Is it me or it the Always On now showing the weather/date now? Didn't notice that on DP3??
It's not just you. It worked on DP3 for about twenty minutes and I never saw it again. I tried all of the remedies that some had success with but never worked for me.

Today, with DP4, it's working. So far :)

Yep I flashed Magisk no problem. SafetyNet doesn't pass ctsprofile. I'm hoping a custom kernel will fix once one comes available (I use Flash Kernel).
It doesn't. I am guessing they're checking the build fingerprint now, which can't be changed with resetprop (just errors). This is expected according to their website so hopefully it will pass once the official release is out.

Android P beta devices aren't Compatibility Test Suite (CTS) approved, but they have passed preliminary testing and provide the same set of APIs for developers. Apps that depend on CTS-approved builds might not work normally on supported devices.
I'm going to wipe my Pixel XL and lock the bootloader to see if happens on stock when I get home from work.

This stopped working for me now, was working on DP3, do you guys know how to bring it back, I have already done:

adb shell "settings put global always_on_display_constants smart_space_enabled=true"

Thanks
