  • Nearly done! Migration cleanup is mostly done. There are a small number of issues left that we continue to work on, but all the heavy lifting is done. We still would love to hear feedback over at this thread and also check out the new XDA app! Thanks and we hope you enjoy the new forums, and thanks for your support of XDA <3

I'm currently waiting for the release of android 5.0 to begin this, but this project aims to create a ROM that is as close to stock as possible, while still including busybox binaries by @stericson, root, and hopefully (waiting for permission) SuperSU by @chainfire. No UI edits, no framework edits or custom apps (other than those specified), a couple edits to respect a custom recovery, and some device specific stuff to allow it to actually run well. I'm aiming to expand to other devices if this is successful, so stay tuned if you don't have a nexus 5. I'm aiming to have a first version by a week or less after the source drop, but realize that it will still be in fully ALPHA stage then, and I have very little prior ROM building experience so don't sue me if something happens to your device... tell me if you have problems though :p.
I'll probably upload to a google drive folder, but if anyone has a better idea for keeping it available without posting a link to a site with ads let me know!
I'll also upload to github for source code, but there really isn't going to be many changes.

And I haven't seen a ton of them promising android Lollipop within a week of the source drop...barely any even talking about it!
why would you need to promise them before source is dropped? once source is dropped, youll see roms based on aosp within hours. its a nexus, you dont need to promise roms before source is published. once the factory img appears, you will see roms based on stock as well.

I suppose, I don't see a problem with doing a custom remix of my own though, even if it mirrors a lot of others pretty closely. I might at least be able to throw in some little kernel mods and optimizations specific for the device, though.
